just a logic type of thing. I guess I'm being a MDZ advocate but I've always been a fan of the best line up approach. Falk provides size and what not but I'm not sure if the impact of a resident 6/7 D man's size is worth replacing MDZ.

Sure, he hasn't been playing well offensively but it's so easy to forget his upsides. It's hard to remember them lately, though. Nonetheless, I think it's time enough.

I definitely agree with you that I want DZ out there. I wanted him out there tonight.

I never comment on the announcers on this board but since you brought it up, I AM DONE with Sam Rosen. He is such a *****. He spends way too much time trying to prove that he is not a homer that he goes into the anti-Ranger camp. Dorsett did everything he could to avoid Rask and the replay showed that he spun and missed him except for maybe grazing his jersey. But there was Sam saying it was a good call without even looking at the replay. He needs to retire already. I could use a little homerism on my Ranger broadcasts. Not stupid homerism like Chico, but some homerism.

I listened to the Boston crew tonight.

I'd much rather listen to the MSG crew any day of the week.

Typically. Yes. In his five game sample size. What else can I refer to? Remember, it's because of that five game sample size that some Ranger fans legitimately think it's a good idea to move Lundqvist and give Talbot the reigns.

For as atrocious as Lundqvist has been, he's a .918SV% and 2.38GAA, playing the better teams than Talbot. I shudder to think how the fans would react if he performed like Quick in the regular season. We wouldn't have even been a playoff team the last couple of years.

This isn't about the last couple of years. HIs contract is up now. Playing the better teams? There is nothing tougher than the Rangers playing the Habs on Saturday night in Montreal. Nothing. And you can't say typically when your sample size is 5. This is about whether Hank gets the huge contract at the end of the year and right now I don't think that would be too smart. There's a long way to go but he needs to win games like this. He has to keep that Paille goal out; and he didn't.

And when they came in with an idea to clog up the ice and create turnovers, it really doesn't matter for them what the condition of the ice is.

I don't understand how crazy bounces on 2 on 1s can be an advantage...

Maybe I just haven't watched the same games for the past 35 years...

So you're telling me that they changed their game plan to suit MSG ice, and the Rangers, who play there ALL year, some of these guys for half a decade or more, do nothing?

I find that unfathomable. The concept that the Rangers shoddy home ice works as an advantage for visiting players is illogical.

I don't doubt you've been watching the Rangers play for a very long time, but experience doesn't eliminate confirmation bias.

there are a lot of things harder than getting a shutout in that game

When the team is as putrid as this one is I guess you gotta find distractions

Like I said I don't usually comment on the announcing but I found my self yelling at Sam and Joe tonight more than usual; so I posted.

And guys like Callahan, Richards, Kreider, Stepan also gotta score to help Hank win games like this

one of Falk or Moore should be out Thursday, absolutely horrendous breakdown by both on that first goal, that cant happen you cant give a guy the boards there if your Falk and Moore needs to realize their playing the fourth line and pressure the puck a guy like Thornton isnt going to dangle hank out of his skates but any hockey player can score given time and space to rip off a wrister, common man.

also like some have mentioned Girardi is like a square peg in a round hole in this defensive system, it doesn't fit him at all. Sather needs to realize this and look at his options of moving him before were forced to pay him.

Not for the Rangers the last couple of years. That has been a house of horrors and he stood tall. Why would you take anything away from him? To protect Hank?

This has been a tough stretch of games. montreal la and the bruins all play tough defensive hockey and mostly have good goalie. Scrivens isnt Quick but after a back to back the rangers looked tired that game

You're right it was mean spirited and not really true. Did he really think he was gonna get away with smashing rask like that?

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, maybe he didn't think at all about it.
Dorsett has been okay, he has filled his role and he cares. I'll take a Dorsett any day, and welcome any warts he brings.
I don't like hockey that is too sanitized anyways.

Falk was awful on the first Brooins goal, Henrik was awful on the 2nd. Winnable game. Rask was incredible. tip your hat, move on. We deserved much much better.

so because we havent won there in a while that makes it impossible to win there? its just another game. no more. no less. we just have crazy superstitions. habs not showing up at all kind of helps too.
