Not all season but it's happening too often for my taste.

Absolutely . He has been solidly mediocre. Soft goals in close games and amazing saves are becoming rarer. I think we have seen his best days already, and would be foolish to tie up 8 mil per for long term. I think NYR as a franchise has to consider trading him at the deadline to get something of value rather than letting him walk or signing him to an albatross. I'm not even hating, I love Henrik but I don't think we win a cup with him taking the percentage of salary cap he is.

Maybe it's because I'm in a grumpy mood today but I've just had it with this team. It's worse than a WWF scripted match. They were gonna come out flying, make one stupid mistake and the game is over.

I love Henrik but he's been Captain Temper Tantrum this year. Guy freaks out after every goal. The team plays better with Talbot in goal, it's sad to say.

I'm ready for the usual Rangers excuses, oh they played well but couldn't bury chances, oh it was Nash's first game back he's rusty. I've heard it all before, same nonsense.

Also can they please get rid of the Blues Traveler nonsense song after they lose? I'm tired of it.

Sam was AWFUL tonight.

And I miss the old goal horn. The new one is a basketball sub horn.

How does MDZ have anything to do with this? We have defensemen who shoot. Delzaster needs to be within 5 feet of the net to even have a chance of scoring a goal. with dorsett giving their goalie a swirlie.

Logic does. He's being scratch because coaching staff wants more offensively. It's a wake up call. They want offense. We have **** offense right now.

If you want offense, put your best offensive line up on there and go from there.

This game has nothing to do with MDZ. The next game does.

Anyone care to look up the last ES goal scored by a forward?

EDIT: It was Brad Richards in the 3rd period against Florida.

4 games without a forward scoring an even strength goal.

No one's going to say it because they'll find something to nitpick one mistake and make that the reason for the loss.

The common thread in the losses to Anaheim, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Boston all on home ice, where the Rangers flat out DOMINATED in possession, territory, and scoring chances is the simple fact the ******* ICE SUCKS AT MSG!

Strange bounces off sticks, pucks bouncing over wide open players, pucks not being kept in at the point because of a strange bounce.

A BILLION (with a B) for BRIDGES, but not one dime to actually put a professional ice surface down.

I mean, it says it on his Twitter profile...

He's not Lord Voldemort...

Take it up with Jared Sexton. Because it's Jared Sexton who doesn't like Jared Sexton's name to be mentioned on HF. Where is Jared Sexton anyway? He's usually around during the games.

Honestly, Talbot hasn't had to steal any. Rangers usually look much better in front of him.

Look at their last two starts. Talbot faced MTL, Rangers dominated, and he barely faced any scoring chances. Next game against the Kings, majority of the chances were down at the Rangers end, Lundqvist stands on his head with one of his best games of the season, and the team falls short.

People are really delusional with "Prince Chad." He usually faces lesser teams than Lundqvist (and he should, he is the back up), the team seems to score more goals with him in net, and he faces lesser quality chances.

Tonight, where Lundqvist faced limited opportunities is a typical night for Talbot. People on here act like Talbot is stealing games for the Rangers when the Rangers typically outplay the opposition when he is in net.

Typically? He's played 5 games and has been better than Hank. I'm not saying he's a better goalie. I am saying Hank is not playing well for him and may be on the downside of his career (our teams have taxed him heavily over the years) and that is important considering his contract situation.

Yeah Lundqvist is on my last nerves this year, he has played mediocre in a lot of games and his temper tantrums have been annoying.

At this point I'd love to explore trading him, and wouldnt really care if he leaves at the end of the year. Talbot may not be the future but other teams have proven you can win without an "elite" goalie, especially when this "elite" goalie wants to suck up $8mil in cap space. For that much $$$ you better stand on your head every night.

Well all I'll say is have some patience folks. We have 2 goals on our last 105 shots. ONE HUNDRED FIVE. That's not gonna continue.

People say the team lacks finish and sometimes they do. But that apllies when shots are sent wide or good chances are fumbles. Rask stopped 43 chances tonight that were right on target.

Tip your cap and move on. We're getting there.

Done with the statement to DZ - now it's time for him to come back. Not that he would of made a difference, but I've had enough of Falk for now.

Kreider was a beast tonight, really wished he could have potted one. By far and away our best player tonight. I hope this kid keeps this confidence up.

Leaguewide shooting percentage is relatively stable around 9%. The last three years we have been basically 9,9.5,8.5 or so. No team has finished a season below 7.04 since 2010 (last year Ottawa). We are currently at 6.71. Two teams are worse (Flyers 6.60. Hurricanes 6.30) The roster is relatively similar. It's just bad bounces/running into good goalies/missing opportunities over a small sample. It'll go up as the year goes on and more pucks go in. Goals are mainly a function of shots attempted. Either that or you believe we are the third worst offensive team in years ahead of only the other two I mentioned. Seems unreasonable.

To me, this a Game Day Thread.
The talk is about this game, this game in particular.

The Bruins were better tonight. The Rangers did not do enough to win. Rask was good and the Rangers could not overcome it.

The team that won was better.

It was Thornton that scored, not Iginla, not Stamkos, not Ovechkin. Thornton, and not even Joe Thornton. The Henrik high glove side weakness has reared its head again, with an added 5 hole problem with the new pads.

I dont actually see how rotating the lines will possibly do anytihng to alleviate the problem at this point. The passes you get from teammate x at open goal wont be any different.

kreider with 2 clean breakaways, one that ended in a PS, Nash open goal, Stepan, Kreider x851851951, Stralman in the post.

This is a mental issue, it has to be. Saying they dont have talent is a bit absymal considering they just steamrolled the Bruins, despite being huge softies according to half this board

Our "unsustainably low shooting percentage" has been sustained for quite some time now.

I say some pretty insane **** after a loss. Especially one as frustrating as this. Ohh child you shoulda heard me. At one point i actually yelled, "**** my ****ing *** with a vacuum cleaner." It happens. We're all pissed. Let's just hold each other and comfort one another in this time of loss.

 I'm on board with that.

Totally agree. I have buddies who are Bruins fans and they asked if I was mad.

I said no because we've generated tons of great chances, got twarted by great saves over the last three games.

Keep pressing - it'll start going in.

Ripped top shelf? The save Rask made on Nash's redirection early in the game was a tougher chance. Only diffference is Rask knows how to use his glove. And the second goal through the legs is bad considering that Paille had back pressure and few options. Rask stopped how many breakaways? Stop with the excuses. Hank is good. World class? Not so sure anymore.

so when he steals a bunch of games this yr can you admit you are over reacting?
