Well all I'll say is have some patience folks. We have 2 goals on our last 105 shots. ONE HUNDRED FIVE. That's not gonna continue.

People say the team lacks finish and sometimes they do. But that apllies when shots are sent wide or good chances are fumbles. Rask stopped 43 chances tonight that were right on target.

Tip your cap and move on. We're getting there.

If by right on target you mean mostly into his chest then yes. :naughty:

Logic does. He's being scratch because coaching staff wants more offensively. It's a wake up call. They want offense. We have **** offense right now.

If you want offense, put your best offensive line up on there and go from there.

This game has nothing to do with MDZ. The next game does.

I agree from the offensive standpoint to an extent. I'll just play Devil's Advocate and say that in those same 3 games, we've let in a combined 3 goals as well. You can't expect MDZ to be the main contributor for our offense.

Typically? He's played 5 games and has been better than Hank. I'm not saying he's a better goalie. I am saying Hank is not playing well for him and may be on the downside of his career (our teams have taxed him heavily over the years) and that is important considering his contract situation.

Typically. Yes. In his five game sample size. What else can I refer to? Remember, it's because of that five game sample size that some Ranger fans legitimately think it's a good idea to move Lundqvist and give Talbot the reigns.

For as atrocious as Lundqvist has been, he's a .918SV% and 2.38GAA, playing the better teams than Talbot. I shudder to think how the fans would react if he performed like Quick in the regular season. We wouldn't have even been a playoff team the last couple of years.

No one's going to say it because they'll find something to nitpick one mistake and make that the reason for the loss.

The common thread in the losses to Anaheim, New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Boston all on home ice, where the Rangers flat out DOMINATED in possession, territory, and scoring chances is the simple fact the ******* ICE SUCKS AT MSG!

Strange bounces off sticks, pucks bouncing over wide open players, pucks not being kept in at the point because of a strange bounce.

A BILLION (with a B) for BRIDGES, but not one dime to actually put a professional ice surface down.

When Anaheim, NJ, and LA came in, they played on the same ice as the Rangers did. It should be an advantage, with our guys being used to it and all.

And also, I'd much rather have MDZ in the line up over Falk when the team is struggling to score goals. I understand a lot of his weaknesses, but MDZ > Falk. And I don't think it's all that close either.

Either shop him and ship him out, or put him in the line up. You only hurt his trade value if you're scratching him for Falk long term.

Leaguewide shooting percentage is relatively stable around 9%. The last three years we have been basically 9,9.5,8.5 or so. No team has finished a season below 7.04 since 2010 (last year Ottawa). We are currently at 6.71. Two teams are worse (Flyers 6.60. Hurricanes 6.30) The roster is relatively similar. It's just bad bounces/running into good goalies/missing opportunities over a small sample. It'll go up as the year goes on and more pucks go in. Goals are mainly a function of shots attempted. Either that or you believe we are the third worst offensive team in years ahead of only the other two I mentioned. Seems unreasonable.

This will be ignored by too many.

Maybe it's because I'm in a grumpy mood today but I've just had it with this team. It's worse than a WWF scripted match. They were gonna come out flying, make one stupid mistake and the game is over.

I love Henrik but he's been Captain Temper Tantrum this year. Guy freaks out after every goal. The team plays better with Talbot in goal, it's sad to say.

I'm ready for the usual Rangers excuses, oh they played well but couldn't bury chances, oh it was Nash's first game back he's rusty. I've heard it all before, same nonsense.

Also can they please get rid of the Blues Traveler nonsense song after they lose? I'm tired of it.

Sam was AWFUL tonight.

And I miss the old goal horn. The new one is a basketball sub horn.

I never comment on the announcers on this board but since you brought it up, I AM DONE with Sam Rosen. He is such a *****. He spends way too much time trying to prove that he is not a homer that he goes into the anti-Ranger camp. Dorsett did everything he could to avoid Rask and the replay showed that he spun and missed him except for maybe grazing his jersey. But there was Sam saying it was a good call without even looking at the replay. He needs to retire already. I could use a little homerism on my Ranger broadcasts. Not stupid homerism like Chico, but some homerism.

Man CK is moving and making plays . I think he needs to realize top NHL goalies aren't always going to get blown away by his telegraphed wrister no matter how hard and he has to deke and or maybe take a little off it and pick a corner . That one down low as he matures maybe he goes forehand back hand because he had a little more time than he thought .
Kids good I just he developes into a finisher and not Jason Chimera V2.0

Rongos :(

If you took Derek Dorsett's IQ and multiplied it by 10, you might have enough intelligence to tie your skate...that is if you didn't drool all over yourself first.

I never got this. That's assuming all shots are the same. Last game we had 37 shots and like 35 cupcakes. I won't say it was the same this game, but I'd take Chicago shooting 25 times over the Rangers shooting 50 times.

Seems like when I'm mad everyone is logical, and then when I'm being logical everyone is going insane.

This is why I always win angriest poster. It's all about timing.

I love looking at these threads following a loss. It takes me back to my high school days. Bunch of 15 year olds arguing about nonsense. Gotta love it.

just a logic type of thing. I guess I'm being a MDZ advocate but I've always been a fan of the best line up approach. Falk provides size and what not but I'm not sure if the impact of a resident 6/7 D man's size is worth replacing MDZ.

Sure, he hasn't been playing well offensively but it's so easy to forget his upsides. It's hard to remember them lately, though. Nonetheless, I think it's time enough.

1) try listening to the other msg crews. it really makes you appreciate sam and joe.

2) i have never seen an announcer attacked for being too neutral.

I may be the minority on the board tonight, but I absolutely had no problem with our game tonight in which we basically dominated the Eastern Conference Finalists.

We had a lot of shots and chances, that frankly, just didn't go in, either bad bounces, a post, amazing saves. Yeah the counter point is that we won't win games without finishing, but don't worry, the goals will come. I'd rather 100x be in this situation than the one we were in in the beginning of the season.

Good game today.

this is the reality and I bet the team knows it and will bounce back but this board is a bunch of babies so everyone will start blaming Hank and others

When Anaheim, NJ, and LA came in, they played on the same ice as the Rangers did. It should be an advantage, with our guys being used to it and all.

And when they came in with an idea to clog up the ice and create turnovers, it really doesn't matter for them what the condition of the ice is.

I don't understand how crazy bounces on 2 on 1s can be an advantage...

Maybe I just haven't watched the same games for the past 35 years...

Joe is in the same boat. Every game when someone gets injured by the other team we have to hear how that player is injured every 5 minutes. When Nash is injured, maybe once in a game if ever. I know that fans know who is injured on our team better than our team but while other announcers are making excuses for their team, these guys make excuses for other team multiple times a game.

Now why don't you post some Tim Thomas highlights from years past to show that he is still one of the best goalies in the league. Useless post from you.

thomas flopping around like a fish out of water is completely irrelevant here. a lot of those are from the past 2 years and are all glove saves, which you claimed he doesnt do. also nice of you to completely ignore the link to that thread. please try to argue that.

I try not to get angry when I post here, I've been mostly satisfied with the Rangers product since the 2004-05 lockout but this season for some strange reason has just aggravated me. I don't know what it is, it started last year too I think.

That being said, I love Sam and don't want him to retire, just clean it up.

Also, can Pouliot finally take a seat and can Miller get back in? Ditto with the Falk for MDZ swap.

Is the announcing that big of a deal? Just watch the game, who cares what they say?

Richards, Zucc and Kreider best NYR forwards on the ice tonight

Nash was alright, happy to have him back at last
