Trouba is absolutely not a shutdown D
With a competent partner and fwds that back check in an actual system?
He most certainly is a shutdown dman..
Trouba is absolutely not a shutdown D
Says the guy who said we played a good game. Giving up two PP goals and looking like trashTrouba hasn't been a shutdown D. Actually he's been slightly below average defensively the past couple seasons and this season has been bad.
DeAngelo is grittier than Trouba.No. No they are not easier to replace. Trouba plays a physical game. He's not going anywhere. Just accept it.
Who the hell cares about grit? I just want a player that separates the puck from a player with his body and clear the grease. Not being afraid to get into the dirty areas and take a beating. That's what Trouba does. He's the Dman you want to take a beating. Not ADA or fox. Those are our offensive players.DeAngelo is grittier than Trouba.

Are you just trying to troll? Did you just have you first beer? Are you smoking the ganja? Because there is no logical reason for this type of thinking.I just don’t know what game you’re watching if you think Trouba is better than DeAngelo. Shutdown defensive dmen are a dime a dozen, DeAngelos blend of skating, shiftiness, playmaking ability, and the edge he plays with is such a unique package.

Well statistically and by any objective measure I am correctAre you just trying to troll? Did you just have you first beer? Are you smoking the ganja? Because there is no logical reason for this type of thinking.
Lol statistically? You mean his goals scored? Yeah sure he's a offense Dman. But he does not defend well. You will never be the best Dman on the team if you can do the most important thing at your position... Play d. Plain and simple.Well statistically and by any objective measure I am correct
I find this statement puzzling since we have been looking for just ONE over the past few decades.Shutdown defensive dmen are a dime a dozen,

I can’t believe this is what the topic of choice is right now. Trading one of our righty D. Really amazing.
Who's a good example of a shutdown defenseman? Chara? Pietrangelo?I find this statement puzzling since we have been looking for just ONE over the past few decades.
there is no point in having that convo until Nils Lundkvist shows up AND he shows that he is as good or better than 1 or more of the 3. until that day I don't know why we'd even be thinking about it
"When he's on." This is fair and tempered.Who's a good example of a shutdown defenseman? Chara? Pietrangelo?
Best D we've had in recent years are McDonagh & Stralman. Not sure that either counts as "shutdown" though.
Be interesting to see what the Rangers do about ADA. He is fun when he's on.
They were excellent defensive d-men in their time...but I wouldn't go as far as to say they were "shut down". Even in their prime, opposing players had way too much freedom in our defensive end.Huh?! Their names were Dan Girardi and Marc Staal and they took us SO far, lemme tell ya..
