DeAngelo is grittier than Trouba.
Who the hell cares about grit? I just want a player that separates the puck from a player with his body and clear the grease. Not being afraid to get into the dirty areas and take a beating. That's what Trouba does. He's the Dman you want to take a beating. Not ADA or fox. Those are our offensive players.

I just don’t know what game you’re watching if you think Trouba is better than DeAngelo. Shutdown defensive dmen are a dime a dozen, DeAngelos blend of skating, shiftiness, playmaking ability, and the edge he plays with is such a unique package.

Watching Panarin play is unreal. Every time he's on the ice and touches the puck, magic happens. Probably the best forward this team's had since Jagr and that's factoring in the Nash's and Gaborik's of the world.

Tony and Strome both had excellent games as well and I thought Fast was a nice compliment on the top line.

Henrik didn't have a good night and Bob really turned it on in the 2nd half of the game. Overall, I thought they played well enough to win but a not so good night from Henrik and the PK still being an atrocity will usually do you in.

Are you just trying to troll? Did you just have you first beer? Are you smoking the ganja? Because there is no logical reason for this type of thinking.

Maybe it doesn't look like it under the circumstances but Trouba is on a whole different level..

I find this statement puzzling since we have been looking for just ONE over the past few decades.
Who's a good example of a shutdown defenseman? Chara? Pietrangelo?

Best D we've had in recent years are McDonagh & Stralman. Not sure that either counts as "shutdown" though.

Be interesting to see what the Rangers do about ADA. He is fun when he's on.

there is no point in having that convo until Nils Lundkvist shows up AND he shows that he is as good or better than 1 or more of the 3. until that day I don't know why we'd even be thinking about it

Of course there’s no point I’m amazed at what I’m reading. 20 plus friggen years its like Zubov all over again. Ridiculous comments.

And Lias? Honestly deserved less time than he even got. Baby shit soft going into any battle for a puck. Embarrassing really. He cannot spend another minute here.

Huh?! Their names were Dan Girardi and Marc Staal and they took us SO far, lemme tell ya..
They were excellent defensive d-men in their time...but I wouldn't go as far as to say they were "shut down". Even in their prime, opposing players had way too much freedom in our defensive end.
