We need more guys like Lemieux on this team. He's the first one to jump off the bench after Kakko's OT winner. And then shakes Kakko and body slams him into the boards with excitement, prompting the biggest smile I have ever seen on Kakko's face. IMO, that was more exciting than the goal itself. I just love the enthusiasm of these youngsters. Makes me feel young again.

Who was it here, that wanted Kakko to score the first goal of the game? And isn't it only fitting he also gets the clutch OT winner?

Kudo's to Panarin, ADA and Kreids for not giving up on that extremely long shift. That allowed our rookies to do their magic.

A good fought win, when we had every chance to let this one slip away.

I noticed that too with Lemmy and share your sentiment.

I think Lemmy has accepted he doesn't have the skill to be a long term top 6, but he could carve out a long career as a top 9 defensive specialist.

He blocks shots as good as Girardi.

Sign of a young team/coach.

Better sign is that they then tend to react well in the subsequent period.
I mean, it's also been an issue for a few years now. Not just a Quinn thing.

I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it though, if their first and third periods are good.

Kinda love/hate how Kakko totally dismissed Buch and went to celebrate with Fox after the ot winner lol

Yeah we blew a lead at home and the Pens didn't have Crosby or Letang but that's a good win for us. It puts us two games over .500 and both Kakko and Fox had big games. Georgiev held the fort as well.

People hate the +/- stat but Buchnevich is leading the team with a +8 which says to me his game is evolving. I wish he'd shoot more but he's a much stiffer and more defensively responsible player to play against this year and I think it shows up in that stat. His physical game is better as well. Lindgren also is a +5 in 6 games. I loved how he was working over Malkin in front of the net.

Thank God because 1% lower and you end up with Skjei

Better pack my portable charger at work

Don't look now, but the team is at true .500 and 6-2-2 in their last 10.

Said from the beginning they'd be on the doorstep. Whether they sneak in and get the kids their first taste of PO hockey or they finish at the bottom end of the lottery and hope to the hockey gods for a Chicago-like draw, I'm good.
We’re in the mix. Gonna be tough, but that 3rd division spot is up for grabs.
