Does a straw have one hole or two?
This question is explored in the book I'm currently reading:

Answer: definitely not zero (apparently some people say this), and really not two, but one isn't quite right either. Then it goes into balloons and starts talking about zero-dimensional holes, negative holes, etc.

It’s two. Two holes and a tunnel connecting them.

i think it is fair to simplify and say the answer is one
It’s two. Two holes and a tunnel connecting them.

No, there's math explaining why that's not true. You could say there's one hole with two openings, but even that's not quite right. The guy is a mathematician and you are defective, so...
If a is tunnel running north and south through a mountain, does it not have a north entrance and a south entrance?

A straw has one continuous hole. The hole has depth and goes the entire length of the solid around it.

Funny, I was going to use a Tunnel in a Mountain in my analogy too. What is the least amount of "holes" you'd dig to create a Tunnel in a Mountain? Or for that matter, a straight line Tunnel anywhere?

To me, the answer is one hole. As far as I know, no one ever said holes can't have an entrance and an exit separated by depth.

My dad used to always watch The Honeymooners all the time. I had no idea until I was older that him & the sheriff in Smokey & the Bandit were the same actor.

Honeymooners was classic. Timeless comedy.

The 80's f***ing ruled

Prime Cindy Crawford was one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Very likely who ever existed. And yes, the 80's kicked all the ass!

Being a real spy, aka not Bond, is a thankless job. Fascinating aspect of human society.

Does a straw have one hole or two?

So this is OT. Went looking for a gif of the portable hole from Roger Rabbit in response to your post. Didn't find one, but I did find this. The internet is like a box of chocolates

It takes seven men seven days to dig seven holes. How long does it take one man to dig half a hole?

You're confused and conflating "entrances" with "holes". The tunnel IS the hole. Otherwise, where exactly does the 1st hole end and the 2nd hole begin?

There is no hole. It is a plane wrapped around an empty space.

This is the zero answer, and apparently it's wrong per math, so...

Lol...Demons singing Rihanna's umbrella ....

Well I guess I will need to forgive cuck and company if I want to avoid this priest's description of hell and why he went there...
