Finally remembered to snap a pic of this bad boy.

Anyone have any experience with Lupus? As you may remember, I found out back in October that I have a benign brain tumor. Found it by accident as the MRI was actually looking for Multiple Sclerosis lesions. During the summer I put together a list of various symptoms I have been experiencing on and off for a few years. Blood work didn't show anything and the going theory was MS based on the symptoms and how they seemed to come and go randomly, which led to the MRI.

Anyways, the MRI showed the brain tumor, but not MS lesions. So after I dealt with the brain tumor first to get a game plan there, I went back to the original quest as the brain tumor only accounted for like 3 of the symptoms on my list. I've got one of those EMG tests scheduled, but if that comes back normal the next guess is going to be Lupus. Don't really know anyone with Lupus, so I'm not sure if what I've got matches up. The only thing I really knew about Lupus before this week was that House always thought mystery things were Lupus and it was never Lupus.

I'm currently having a "flare up" period heavy on rando muscle twitches. For the past 48 hours it has been my right eye and the top of my right arm on both sides of the inside of my elbow, which by the way is a muscle/area I don't have manual control over. As of typing this, I've now got my left bicep, left pinky, a part of my right shoulder, a part of my left lat, the bottom of my left foot, and almost my whole right foot. It isn't painful, it is just super weird. Contraction, fluttering, twitching, activating all on their own.

Getting to your "late 30s" sucks. Things just start breaking down left and right. And inside.

Literally the only thing I know about lupus related to House, but I can’t even remember what it actually is

Right?! It was such a thing on House it is a meme. I looked it up. Apparently if they couldn't figure out what the illness was, one of the doctors would suggest Lupus. House always responded with:
its-never-lupus-lupus.gif

Although, they did eventually do an episode where someone did have Lupus.

It is an autoimmune disease with "flare up" periods. There is some significant cross over with MS and they come up together often in the research I've been doing since the summer. Everything I've seen keeps talking about a rash, but I don't have that so I pushed it down the list of possibilities.

Something biblical about it. In Genesis 44:1-17, Joseph traps his brothers.
:sarcasm:

Parents’ reaction in the stands is priceless. The brothers appear to laugh it out on their way to the box.

Should hold up as one of the most hilarious hockey moments of the year.

I hope it’s something stupid like inaudible hiccups and doesn’t do anything other than make you look shut up on webmd.
I’m pulling for ya bud.

You might answer this later, and probably in the banter thread but I didn’t see this, what part of Germany did you move to?

Very luckily I landed a corporate job in North Rheinland - Westphalia and moved to Essen on the last day of 2022, so here I am. This is the first weekend I’m actually spending here without having to fly to Prague again, went to Düsseldorf for a Saturday and it feels better than described yesterday haha

That's the Daily Heil's MO....clickbait titles. Most are aware of their hook but I don't give it much attention. Their articles have useful info ..you just need a good filter to separate the wheat from the chaff...

Awesome, moving to a new spot with no one you know there requires real courage! I hope it works for you!!
