How did it happen? Did he trip?
The scale was on a wheeled table and Tripp was moving it from one room to another. The room he was moving it into has a trench drain in the floor. We take the covers for the drain out to clean them every night. He managed to put the wheels of the table into the drain, and the scale slid right off.

I don't think he really understood the gravity of the situation.

The scale did understand gravity though...

Well, we lost power again at 5:15 this morning but got it back around 10:30. Quite the roller-coaster ride.

And fwiw, 197,000 people still without power. No fun.
That's rough. We used to lose power a lot and it's so disruptive that we got a generator that could power the whole house.

Off topic but please tell me you didn't lose those beautiful lobsters.

For those of you worried about an asteroid crashing into the planet and bringing about the end times (you know who you are), never fear. NASA is on the job:

NASA's DART mission will slam into an asteroid's moon today | CNN

The DART mission, or the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, will crash into the space rock at 7:14 p.m. ET after launching 10 months ago.

The spacecraft will attempt to affect the motion of an asteroid in space. A live stream of images captured by the spacecraft will be available on NASA’s website beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

He'll no, didn’t lose them.

Shelled them all and we had a feed on Friday before the power went out. Then on Sat ate the rest in a sub...fridge still cold because we got ice from my sister. I posted I the menu thread, but here you go.

My anniversary is today. I get to spend it in quarantine.

I think it's the flu or some kind of bacterial upper respiratory thing, not COVID tho. But have to wait for the test to come back.

Good thing we're not big on planning occasions.
Get well soon yo

I can't post half nudes....lol. But seriously...wish I was staying in Rome longer. Will be in a small town down south most of the 2 weeks in Italy. I will be back though for sure now...probably annually. Already can't wait!

Trust me...lol. Actually met a really nice Brit girl traveling on her own. Not smokin but very cute and actually had nice teeth..lol

If I go next year you are more than welcome to meet up and you can see the talent for yourself!

Love Italy. Did a trip out to Genoa which probably ended up being my favorite of the big cities. Just had a sketchy, unique port flavour to it, with less tourists. Great maritime museum too. What’s the point of travel if you aren’t pushing your comfort levels, right?

Had an air b in the downtown quarters in a building (it had obviously been renovated more than once), from the 12th century. On the first night, I walked out of their drunk, took two wrong turns and ended up in a comically narrow street that was unbeknownst to me, Genoa’s right light district. I did not take them up on their offers, the ladies were from about every corner of the globe you can imagine and in Italy it appears wholly ignored by the police, but swear to god, it felt like I was in a 15th century port city. Complete with a pimp watching over them with missing teeth and an eye patch.

LOL...there is a strip here in Rome with tons of "ladies" of the night...it sounds similar although I saw it from a street over while my cousin's husband drove me to their place. I think it is pretty easy to meet women here from all over ....so many reasons to strike up a convo. Not sure who frequents those streets for women unless I guess they are really desperate or horny as hell. I never been to Genoa but Naples sounds somewhat similar although Naples can be sketchy in general especially at night. Been a while since I have been in Naples.

My Airbnb is awesome...along the Tiber in the Testaccio area. Affordable as hell. My uncle was even surprised and said to give him the information for his guests. Rome is really touristy of course but I prefer it over Milan as far as a big international city. Rome is the crossroads between north and south and I think is just friendlier. Agree though....traveling is all about pushing your comfort levels. I've been learning the public transit system better here....made a couple of mistakes but it's all about pushing your boundaries and enjoying the experience. I will say that I am finding public services here just so much more affordable than the U.S. Even the food so far hasn't been bad. I know their energy costs are high and will skyrocket which everybody keeps complaining about or worried about come this winter but at least with healthcare, education and public services they do a good job. Guess we'll see what this next hard right government brings...of course a lot of it is immigration driven.

My aunt sent photos of the lodge in Pictou where her grandson got married 3 weeks ago. Roof is torn off and lots of other damage.
