This is why you’re my rival for reals.
It's warm for 4 months out of the year. Cold for the rest, and it starts with f***ing fall. Fall is also when all our homegrown food dies, days get shorter, which means when I wake up for work it's pitch blank. My eyes water, nose runs, and I blow redwoods down with my sneezing. Thanks ragweed. Also, my dog's hot spots itch so much he scratches them raw and bleeds, so he gets to go to the vet. It's also when my grandmother started her downward spiral toward death some years ago. And beach season is over too. No more tans, no more beach naps on the blankie. No more sunrise runs. Kids are back in school, so those little goblins and their Karen parents clog up the roads in the morning. Flu season gets going, so work starts to suck more than usual again.

It's always nice to have a witty captain, Re my flight back to Prague with Air Baltic

"hi I'm your captain, we are delayed by ten minutes, i would like to tell you why we are delayed but no one told me"

I haven't flown in a while, but I always enjoyed when the Captain would make an update or observation:

"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...this is your captain speaking. We're currently flying at 30,000 feet with unlimited visibility. That's 10,000 yards, or, for our non-American friends, 914,400 centimeters..."

Ummm various rumours that Winnie the Pooh in China is under house arrest and that there was a coup...? the 2020s certainly are an eventful era so far, doubt those rumours are true though

Power went out at 11:14pm yesterday. Still no power and not expected until Wednesday at 11pm. Hopefully it’s much sooner. Grabbed the wife’s phone so I could check in here…lol.
Thanks. Good to know you are safe, but, man, Wednesday is rough. All the best to you both. We received video from a friend in PEI (French River), showing off her new waterfront property and lack of road. Much worse reports all over the news, including some Newfoundland houses blown into the ocean and residents missing.

Ho-ly crap! All this for … telling someone that they may have cut the line in a store?

You just don’t know what you’ll be up against when you attempt to interact with a stranger in a public place about a basic thing like cutting the line.
