Power went out at 11:14pm yesterday. Still no power and not expected until Wednesday at 11pm. Hopefully it’s much sooner. Grabbed the wife’s phone so I could check in here…lol.

Got a generator from my sister this morning as they have power now. Ran it got a few hours to get fridge and freezer cold again to save the food. Power came on about 1 hour ago, only to lose it again 20 mins later. So back to no power but hopefully it’s back on soon for good. I can live without tv,stove, etc.. but at least the food is safe.

British Airways Flight 9 flew through volcanic ash and had all its engines fail. This was how the captain notified his passengers:

I had an adventure at Costco today. As we were pushing the cart to our car, some dick in a Nissan sports car roared by and then slammed the brakes to keep from running over an old Asian lady who wasn't exactly hugging the row of cars with her cart, but was certainly out of the way. It's a Costco lot, so all the spots and rows are enormous. He finally made a show of whipping around her while gunning it and blasting his horn, and parked a few cars away. Then this unbelievable prick got out, and started screaming at the old lady. I mentioned she was Asian, and that was important, because old Asian ladies don't have a fight or flight response. They have a fight or fight response, so she was immediately giving it back to him.

But, Beefette wasn't having it, as I knew she wouldn't; I knew the second it started that we'd be involved and that was fine. It went on for about 3 seconds before she processed it and began ripping into the dude. This baffled him. He started to say something misogynistic, but didn't get to finish it. I cut him off with a bellowed "NOPE" while giving him a thumbs-down (far more effective than middle finger. Someone gives you the finger and it makes you mad and fires you up. A thumbs down? Nope, it demoralizes you, makes you sad, like you're disappointing everyone), and asked him if he's touched in the head. After asking if he's too simple to work a parking lot and telling him he is gonna kill someone, he tried to argue, at which point I told him his penis must be tiny. That hit a nerve and he stormed off. The unit must indeed be small. Old lady gave a thumbs up (very heartening and a boost to morale) when he was hit with that.

I have zero respect for a small balding dude in his Compensation Mobile trying to bully women and who immediately starts shrinking when a bigger dude asks what's wrong with him.

Andddddd then I had to explain to The Child what happened, why, and why what we did was a virtuous thing. Also how you should drive in parking lots.

Having been a professional cart wrangler at Costco, the parking lot is complete anarchy. It's basically Mad Max out there.

Well, we lost power again at 5:15 this morning but got it back around 10:30. Quite the roller-coaster ride.

And fwiw, 197,000 people still without power. No fun.
