Our decline all started with Voynov's legal troubles. Nobody is claiming that he was a Norris-type defenseman but he was certainly a major compliment to our deep defensive core. Doughty wouldn't have to play 30 minutes a game if we had Voynov on our second PP unit.

If the team doesn't turn it around, personally, I'm about the new coach train. Not because Sutter is bad, but I think his shelf life is done and they need a new voice. Seeing body language out there I haven't seen since TM. Guys are checked out.

Agree. It's not a knock on Sutter. Sutter is great. Sometimes you just need a new voice/style/routine/system. Not because one is necessarily better than the other, but to freshen things up. It's human nature.

On the plus side, I'm liking what I see from Forbert. Still not quite NHL speed ready but close. The guy can make plays no one else can with his mobility and huge reach. Sutter letting him play is huge.

Forbort has been steady for his limited minutes. His first pass is actually not bad.

Huge reach too, also the kid can skate. His skating is not going to ever be an issue.

Another reason why I think you move him asap. He's good but he's not great.

He's playing on his wrong side and it shows. I think he's showing what a badass he is by doing everything on his freaking backhand.

We trade him, we have a huge gap between our #2 and....well pretty much everyone else is bottom pairing since McNabb regressed to a bantam.

29-31 Ive been preaching.

Unless that player is special, like Doughty/Quick/Kopitar.

I would never sign a player past those ages, in today's NHL.

But I am also not a GM.

If we're out at the deadline, move Carter and Martinez because they're the only ones worth anything that could help the Kings out. It sucks but the Kings can't do anything else.
