The only way to alleviate this roster is to trade DD and Carter.

If you get young up and coming studs for those two, you may buy a few years of window. Like Nichols for Sandstrom/Granato deals.

You fill more holes and spread the cap.

Not advocating this, just saying.

It's ruthless and you would lose two all-world players.

Kings are committed to their core. Need to pull of what Chicago has been able to do.

That's the real issue here. We have been trying to fill holes that Brown, Richards, and Voynov have left on this team. I am happy we won two cups, not many franchises can say that, but not buying out Brown and Richards while other teams ditched their terrible contracts has destroyed this team.

I don't even think they could've bought Brown out for free like they could've with Richards. They can't buy Brown out now. Very little upside to it. The dead cap space would skyrocket in like year 3 or 4, and then it's like $2m of dead space for like 30 years.

Not even mad, anyone who looked at this roster and thought "playoff team" was looking more at the logo in front rather than the names on the back. When Quick went down it went from a black hole type team to a top 5 pick type team.

The facts are we have a very poor roster and a very poor pipeline, that is a recipe for disaster. My biggest concern is Dean is going to make another disastrous trade in an attempt to save his job.

I don't think he believes in the team enough to do that. Not that he could. There's no cap space.

Remember when i said Lucic made a big difference because he parked his fatass infront of the net and we scored more goals because of it ? Well on the pp i havent seen ONE guy infront of the goalie to cause some sort of havoc or screen. Lucic should have been resigned at all costs . Greene should have been bought out and Clifford and King moved and made way for prospects so we could have kept Lucic.

You can't pay Kopitar, Brown, Carter, Gaborik, Toffoli, Pearson, and Lucic. While paying Doughty, Muzzin, and Martinez. And paying Quick. Then also having to fill out a roster, even with the cheapest of young players. There is literally only so much money to go around.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. If you're not, I agree.

The usual crowd can save their "I told you so" bullets for me if they desire.

We're not this bad. Funny how many people around here that are so fast to jump on Quick when he gives up 1 goal in the first 10 shots aren't blaming Zatkoff at all for 5 in 15...

Edit: let me rephrase: THIS isn't a playoff team, but it will be.

i guess i feel targeted for this one

difference is... if Raccoon Jesus gets scored 5 goals on 4 shots, i'll say... well, what did you expect? it's Raccoon freakin Jesus!

but Quick sold me on being the best of the best, cream of the creme

so when he consistently gives up a goal on the first 8 shots i'm kinda like WTF

if this is hard for you to grasp, it's all good but yeah ****koff as a starter is ****!

i want every single member on here to admit that Nick Shore is garbage

i want to set up a poll is Shore garbage? and i want a 100% YES vote

we all have to be on the same page, if we are to tear is down and build properly

so...

Is Nick Shore Garbage!!?!?!

I'm in.

I know what you're saying, but I hated that particular trade. Gretz-Nicholls 1-2 punch down the middle would have been lethal for a couple more years. Nicholls was still great as late as '95.

Live by it, and die by it. Tough to think the Kings have a Cup win without it.

Absolutely, considering our Cup-winning teams consisted of homegrown talent.

I will never ***** about any lack of parity again. When you win, that's when you realize that *****ing about teams that can afford to keep a talented roster is only for loser teams.

The only way to truly fix the team cap wise.

Is trade Kopitar/Carter/A-Mart

That frees up close to 20 million, then it's a rebuild, so you might as well trade Quick as well.

Build the team around Doughty/Toffoli/Pearson/Muzzin.

Then hope you suck enough for the next three years to land a Legit Number one center, goalie as well.

Other than that, the Kings are screwed cap wise.

By the trade deadline this team doesn't look so bad

Kempe - Kopitar - Toffoli
Pearson - Carter - Gabby
Mersch - Dowd - Brown/ Lewis
Andreoff - Shore - Auger/ Nolan/ Lewis

Doughty - Muzzin
Martinez - Gravel
LaDue - McNabb
Forbert

Quick
Budaj

Try out the youth if we are floundering.

Maybe a playoff team will pay for a Lewis, King, Clifford, McNabb
