Matt Niskanen has two ****ing PP points in the last two years. He’s not too far behind our other PP ace now that I look at it.

Why is this **** so hard?
You can only hope things get worse so they can get better.

The only way Sanheim gets consideration (mere consideration) for PP time is after Niskanen and Provorov suck on it.

The only way Frost/Farabee get consideration for a call up is when 4 or 5 of the bottom 6 get continually caved.

Similarly, the only way Morin/Myers get consideration for playing time is if the defense (Hagg) gets caved.

He’s clearly a top 2 option so I would care, but at least if they were running a 4F 1D setup, I could understand a little better. But they are going with the old school RD LD set up with two guys who have no business running an NHL PP. Provorov was inevitable but Niskanen is a f***ing joke.

Seriously, imagine this. You see all this stuff that is happening and your first reaction is:

"Why is everybody whining? Melodramatic babies. Calm down!"

There are people on here, plenty of them, who see the news and that's their reaction  And they say it covered in smugness, like of course that's an appropriate reaction

I get it. People are fans. People want to think the team is going to finally stop being the most mediocre team in sports.

To me, they spent all of these resources in the offseason and, at least to start, it looks like the same damn team.

It's not a bubble team, last season was a bubble team until the goalies imploded like drummers in Spinal Tap.
It's a team in transition, and a rough start is to be expected - you wanted major changes, you pay the price.

Farabee is 19, Frost 20, Bunnaman, Twarynski, Rubtsov 21, Vorobyev, Kase 22, NAK 23, Myers 22, Friedman 23, Morin, Bigras 24.
It's not like the top call ups/bottom of the roster guys are a bunch of 26-30 year old AHL+ players like last season.

It's going to be a fun season at both the NHL and AHL level if you go in with no expectations, and just enjoy seeing who rises to the top and who gets kicked off the island - sorta a hockey "reality show."

When the ice chips settle, this is going to be a talented, deep team.

Serious question, since Montreal’s roster has been a point of contention recently. Are we sure the Flyers have a better D corps than the Canadiens for this year? I know I’m not.

That’s maddening given the amount of talent they started with in the system and the money and assets now invested.

THEY MADE ME SORT OF DEFEND WEBER. WHAT HAS HAPPENED?!

it was fine to tell people to calm down in August.

No it wasn't, and this is an important point. People were trying to shut down debate and that's never a good idea unless you are trying to get Jeff Hakstok fired. There have been plenty of red flags and plenty of things to question, including the hirings themselves. Being optimistic is one thing - acting like people are crazy for not being optimistic (which is what happened for four months) is bull****.

And Giroux is still on the right side of the PP, which is equally as stupid and indefensible as Hagg being on the roster.

Wrong. It is dumb but G can create from anywhere. I agree it is stupid, but nowhere near as bad as Haag dressing.

It's going to cost us goals, for sure. And goals cost us games, which cost us points, which matters a whole lot. We can't afford to sabotage our own PP again... especially if the stars are carrying incompetent coaches again.

Agree, just tread lightly on the Haag comparisons please :)

There are maybe a dozen people who actually try to debate on this board.
Debate implies a reasoned exchange of well supported arguments.

The rest make multiple declarative statements, present themselves as "experts," and claim that anyone who disagrees with their opinion is an idiot at best.

It may not do quite as much damage, but it's just as much of an easy layup decision that they somehow ****ed up

I hope the G on the right is just for practise as they can revert back without even a consideration and don’t really need to practise.

And compare Haag playing to sky diving without a parachute, nothing else.

On raw talent (I’m including Myers for my own sake), the Flyers are better. But usage is the great equalizer and it looks like we are starting by splitting up our 3 best defensemen with 3 potential anchors. :dunno:

Bubble playoff team.

They were an 82 point team because they mailed in the last 2.5 weeks of the season.

And if all of those things happen..likely looking at a slow start. Groundhog day.

The lineup they are going into tomorrow game with is a sub-90 point team. Without a doubt.

Not saying it won't change..but until it does..

They've sabotaged the bottom 6.
They've sabotaged the entire defense.
They've sabotaged both powerplay units.

Forget point totals as they probably are better than 82 points pending some major injuries. But are they’re still very much a bubble team currently which has been status quo for a long time now.

Most teams are bubble teams tho less maybe 7 or 8 league wide

I think we contend for top 3 in division , I guess we will see how wrong I am.

That's pretty accurate, actually. I guess what I meant was that people who normally exhibit better sense lost their ****ing minds for four months. Now stop yelling at me.
