Where are they getting the almost $10 million in cap space to make that happen?Right now Sweeney should be on the phone with Vancouver to get Horvat out of there. Carlo.
Horvat doesn't make sense on this team this season unless Coyle is going the other way. Bergy and Krejci didn't sign team friendly deals to lose their #1C/#2C slots.Where are they getting the almost $10 million in cap space to make that happen?
let's hope there is a time where everyone is healthy. If that happens it may be time to make a trade. It will be a good problem to haveWho the heck sits on D when healthy? I really like what I’ve seen out of Clifton and Forbort stepping up.
Guys are competeing and winning spots on the wing. He's caught in a strange moment for the team - there's a logjam of centers infront of him even though center is where they are apparantly barren in a year or two.Poor stud jeez.

First off, Vancouver wants Carlo, which everyone here agrees is out with a concussion and he should consider quitting hockey why??I'm sorry what? Where are you getting $10.0 million with Carlo out and Horvat in?
Do you know something we don't regarding Carlo? According to Monty, he's going to miss 7 days but is doing better than they originally had thought. This sounds like a classic case of precautionary measures for a guy who has a history of head injuries.First off, Vancouver wants Carlo, which everyone here agrees is out with a concussion and he should consider quitting hockey why??
So that leaves $10 million to move out.
Horvat's $5.5 million plus the just over $4 million they have to move out so they can activate Charlie McAvoy from LTIR.
Don't think that doesn't matter? Yes it does because bringing Horvat in has more then doubled the money you need to move to activate McAvoy.
And I doubt Carlo is a starter for the Nucks no matter what your Canuck friends sat.
playing devil's advocate here, Smith is a reliable option to move into the top 6 when you have injuries and I think has been a historically slow starter so I wouldn't write him off just yet. He's also one of only 2 natural RWs on the roster.I like Smitty
But Smith doesn’t really have a purpose on this team if Monty is only gonna play him 7 mins a night on the 4th line like he did last night
He doesn’t play Pk
he’s not on the PP anymore
And his best quality is shooting which he won’t be able to do if he’s on the 4th line with Nosek who has no playmaking ability to get him the puck
If he’s not with a skilled center who can feed him he really should sit for Lauko even though Smitty is a better player
Smith needs to be in the top 9 and on PP2 for him to be able to use his skill to help the team
We all thought Reilly or Forbort would be dealt once 63 and 73 come back cause we need to move 3 million out
While Smith makes 3.1 and Monty doesn’t seem to be a fan
He’d be someone I’d look into trading. Take a pick if you can, he’s not worth the two week hot streak in the regular season. He’s been pretty ineffective so far this year and we have guys like Lauko ready to step in. Also one less spot when Marchand comes back. Trade him.I like Smitty

No. As I said in my OP, "fans here think....."Do you know something we don't regarding Carlo? According to Monty, he's going to miss 7 days but is doing better than they originally had thought. This sounds like a classic case of precautionary measures for a guy who has a history of head injuries.
I took a quick look at Van's back end depth, and you must know some of these lesser-known people better than I do. IMHO, Carlo is 100% a top 6 on that roster. But maybe you feel Kyle Burroughs / Noah Juulsen / Tucker Poolman are much better defenders? I'm not even sold that Van has even one better right hand shot on D (I'm not a fan of Luke Schenn's game personally, and Tyler Myers comes off as a similar player to Carlo in a lot of ways).
i really liked how things ended last night:I'm not sure what they should do with their lines...
Zacha-Krejci-Pasta has been trick or treat for me. They lack sandpaper, someone to go win a puck battle and get the puck back and without that they spend a lot of time defending.
Hall & Pasta clearly have some magic together. We saw it last year, and in 3 games we've seen Hall come alive when he's on the ice with Pasta. But swapping Hall & Zacha still leaves you with a line that lacks grit, a net front presence and is weak defensively.
I think Hall-Bergeron-Pasta would be a terrific line, because Bergy is that guy who will go win a puck or set a screen if that's what his line needs, but...
DeBrusk has played great with Bergeron and on the top line. He's produced more than Pasta since he's been there. Could Zacha-Krejci-DeBrusk work? JDB isn't great defensively but he will go to the net and set screens.
And of course, no matter what you figure out, they're probably going to punt the #1LW as soon as Marchand comes back. So even if 71-37-88 was great we're back to the drawing board.
Lastly, what about the Coyle line? Someone from that top6 is getting pushed down to the 3rd line. I've been in favor of that guy being Hall or even Marchand just to tip the scales with our depth but the way Monty has used the 3rd line it seems unlikely he's going to put a big name offensive guy on a line that gets no Ozone starts.
Boudreau's bullying Garland out in Vancouver. Healthy scratch last night.
Both!Reilly + Smith for Garland. WHO SAYS NO?!
I think the reason they haven't sent stud down is they likely know he wont clear. Hes stuck in Limbo indefinitely unfortunately. Still interested in him getting a look on the 4th between Foligno and Lauko, could end up being a good energy line. Monty has clearly relied on Nosek in the Dzone early however.12 more games until the middle of November.....assuming Marchy-McAvoy-Gryz-Carlo are all back by then. Nov 17th hopefully we see a full Bruins line up. 7 games are very winnable......5 will require a huge effort against Leafs, Flames, Rangers, Stars, and Blues. If the team stands to be 10-6 until completely healthy, I'll be very happy.
Marchy-Bergy-Debrusk is 100% a line
Hall-Krejci-Pasta is your 1a/1b line and if Hall gets going, that's going to be very dangerous
Zacha-Coyle-Greer is your 3rd line, if Greer can keep playing the way he's going
Frederic-Nosek-Foligno or the "No-F's given line" could be a pretty solid 4th
Laukko as the 13th forward
Gryz-McAvoy
Lindholm-Carlo
Forbort-Clifton
Zboril/Stralman
Ullmark
Swayman
Send Studnicka down and let see what he can do getting 1st line minutes, PP, PK, etc
Attempt to trade Reilly and Craig Smith to anyone on this planet who'd be gracious enough to take them.
Both!
Bruins need to clear space without taking anything back, those two are prime candidates for waivers to minors or just freebies.
Garland would get a better return from 29 other NHL teams than waiver Reilly and Smith.
That being said, would be lovely to happen!
