The number also moved because Kincaid was brought up at Lauko.

Lauko can't go down until Nov 7 when Krejci comes off IR. Kincaid won't go down until Swayman is cleared.

It's not just Reilly
No I know but the big swing is Reilly and it’s not like they’re going to trade a netminder.

People need to stop on the Foligno stuff. Guys nothing is happening to Foligno. He's literally the heartbeat of the team. He's the second last guy everyone sees coming off the ice, and might as well be co-captain practically. They are never going to risk losing what he's brought to the room. There aren't a lot of guys that lead like him on this team.

Should add he is also playing well.

I know everyone is all pumped up , me included over this seasons start , but lets be honest Donnie has really painted himself into a corner with the cap issues..............Must be addressed now.

Donnie is literally the best cap managing GM in the league. We have Bergeron and Krejci at $3.5 million against the cap combined. Our highest cap hit at forward is Pastrnak at $6.6m. He just signed a guy who is playing like a top 5 D in the NHL to a 6m cap hit, long-term.

Only three contracts on the team are even arguably underperforming: Reilly ($3m), Smith ($3.1m) and Foligno ($3.8m). Most people, including myself, believe Foligno is playing up to his contract. The other two are valuable depth pieces and still NHL players.

Sweeney will find a way to get cap compliant when McAvoy returns. I have no doubt.

I think you are super understanding his value around the league. Guys who can transition at an elite level have a lot of value.
That's over 82 but anyone who says they don't get nervous in playoffs when heavier teams start the dump, chase and grind is probably lying a little bit .But yes he can transition the puck for sure.Players his size on an NHL defense have to be really good at that because alot of other areas they are at a disadvantage.

Which successful playoff teams last year played a heavy dump and chase grind?

Obviously teams can make some moves to adjust, but for reference. . .

According to Capgeek only
Buffalo
Arizona
Ottawa
Detroit
Anaheim
Chicago
NYI

Have enough cap space at the moment to take the needed 3.5mil from Boston.

Anaheim lines up once again

Do they do another deal after the debacle that is the Lindholm trade?

The problem is that he does though and that is the problem. Grizz has skill and hockey IQ to spare but size is a problem for him.
Players of any size can get taken out with hits to the numbers.

6'5" Carlo is having worse recurring issues because of a dirty hit.

For a guy that wasn't re-signing, they got a a solid package for a UFA.

That said, Verbeek/Sweeney trade history suggests this is certainly an option, and they need help on the backend.

Good lord Buffalo is so young and talented. Filled with prospects and they have cap space. This team is dangerous.

You really think his size is the reason for him getting hurt on that hit?

I think Zobril just needs reps he will be good down the road, stay positive
His main weakness during his draft year was losing focus and commiting unforced errors. 7 years after he's drafted, his main weakness is still losing focus and commiting brutal unforced errors. At this point that's just what he is.

dirty hits are dirty hits. Size isn't a problem for Carlo and wasn't a problem for Nash but they both received concussions from high questionable hits on several occasions
You can Cherry pick guys who are susceptible to concussion issues to make your point if you like but if size wasn't an issue in the NHL there would be a lot more smaller players playing. There are a few who have figured out how to play the game at the NHL level but few of them are successful at D.

Shouldn’t even let guys his size play defense. He should be too embarrassed to take the ice being that small. It’s shameful.
