I am not not comfortable come playoffs with Clifton.................Gryz is a much better player..I’m not interested in making the Bruins worse on purpose this year.

at almost four times the cap hitI am not not comfortable come playoffs with Clifton.................Gryz is a much better player..
Clifton was great in the playoffs las5 year. He’s been great this year.at almost four times the cap hit
That is not what I am saying . I am talking about maximizing your assets and putting the best playoff team on the ice. While managing your cap and planing for the futureFeeling better about a long playoff run with Reilly or Zboril instead of Grizz is certainly something. But I know he’s wicked small. So small it’s awful.
I know. I just don’t know how anyone could think Reilly or Zboril gives us a better playoff team than Grizz. I mean I do know because I read it here all the time. Because he’s wicked small. That is not what I am saying . I am talking about maximizing your assets and putting the best playoff team on the ice. While managing your cap and planing for the future
Some people neglect all the positives purely because of his height. He gets pushed around in front of the net; he also does many other things very well. Him and Kevan Miller were a great paring.I know. I just don’t know how anyone could think Reilly or Zboril gives us a better playoff team than Grizz. What I am saying once again is I am not calling Reilly or Zboril better. I am saying Gryz and Reilly are both over paid. I just feel the (with out checking cap Friendly) the $3.687mil spent on Gryz could be far better used, if winning in the playoffs is the priority.I know. To be fair at 5on5, Clifton is a +2 in 43 playoff games. Gryz is a -17 in 59 games. He's never been better than a -2 in any year. He was on the ice for 3 times more goals against then goals for vs the Canes last year while getting over 60% offensive zone starts and only averaging 14 minutes a night. That is not good. If he was bringing Krug-eque skills to the PP it would be one thing but that's not the case.I am not not comfortable come playoffs with Clifton.................Gryz is a much better player..
Who was the last SC winning team that had a 5-9 defenseman in their top 4 ? (the wings had a guy 5-9 or so on the third pair vs the Pens, irc). I mean sad to say, but he is small. Doesn't make him bad. I still say you put him on the 3rd pair and take advantage of third lines in the playoffs, and I think he is a much better option that Zboril and Reilly because being bigger obvi doesn't make you better always. What I am saying once again is I am not calling Reilly or Zboril better. I feel a lot of people for whatever reason are very protective of #48. And IMO are not seeing the full picture when it comes to his contribution , and winning playoff games
please don't bring up the fact that Gryz has been on the ice for 26 goals for in the playoffs and 47 goals against in the play-offs even strength in his career, those numbers mean nothing. The real stat is when he is on the ice, the team has more chances! To be fair at 5on5, Clifton is a +2 in 43 playoff games. Gryz is a -17 in 59 games. He's never been better than a -2 in any year. I would be fine if they moved on. We have a pretty damn good sample size of his game just not being up to snuff in the playoffs. He doesn't belong in the top 4 on a playoff team and I would rather have a guy that brings an edge and plays tough when the tough gets going like Cliffy and Forbot or even get an actual highly skilled offensive specialist like a Klingberg, Gostisbehere, Shattenkirk(all UFAs likely to be dealt at deadline) or whomever for the 3rd pair.
add potentially Swayman to that....Does Forbort potentially being out kick the cab down the road a bit?
Thanks for the clarification, Dom.No, it doesn't clear that much. He has already spent time on the roster and would until a trade happens and that cap hit doesn't get removed after a trade.
And as I wrote in the article: it depends on whether the Bruins want to cover part or all of the Bergeron/Krejci/Swayman bonuses and how much they want to bank for trade deadline..
I am sure you are a nice person who buys Girl Scout cookies outside of supermarkets on Saturday mornings (I get it if you skip the Boy Scouts I still don’t know what they are selling - looks like colored nachos, but put a can out and and I’ll throw in a dollar or two but not $5 for something I’m not even sure is digestible)I am sorry for those that consider #48 a sacred cow as another poster described him. But moving him as a player that could possibly bring you a second in the up coming draft is still the move that , I would love too see the bruins make . They have and abundance of LD so why not move one that could give you a Return. Opposed to moving Reilly and having to add another player as a sweetener
He is not a player I feel comfortable with if you are trying to go for a long playoff run
Huh? Sweeney steal nothing. The Hockey Stotk brought Lindholm.Sweeney stole Lindholm maybe he can steal Wright from Kraken now
When forecheckers get on him you me and everyone hold our breathes he dont get hurt.Saw it tonite he got flattened there behind net to Ullmarks right and I was saying please get up .Great player in open space but in own end I get nervous.Nothing to do with skill just his size.I like big D men in playoff wars .Who was the last SC winning team that had a 5-9 defenseman in their top 4 ? Trading Grzelcyk is like the Patriots trading Kevin Faulk or James White because they aren’t Rahmandre StephensonRight. If you trade Gryz its for an upgrade or for an pick when the season is over. Anything else doesnt make sense
the amount that they're "over" is less than that.Stralman’s $1 million dollar contract would be “plenty of relief?” How?
It’s just under $1.2M. If you got rid of Stralman you need to replace him so very little relief.the amount that they're "over" is less than that.
