Yes the team that needs to shed salary needs to take one one of the larger cap hits in the league.
Even if Chicago retained half, Bruins are still at minimum back where they started, IF both of the Bruins most expendable players are in the deal. Reilly+ Smith = ~ half of Kane. 3 + 3.1 vs 10.5/2 (5.25 and .825k cap savings)
Kane makes sense in the sense, Good Player to Good team makes sense, but cap structure and roster, I really don't see how this works without moving a few roster players, in a position we are relatively strong at the moment at. (For once I wouldn't say RW is a weakness on the team)
