Think newspapers have people working around the clock? That's how they end up on your door early in the morning? I bet the sports sections are following the games live on a big screen during the night, while they cut and paste the soccer news from English tabloids in the commercial breaks. Or they could even have their US correspondant watch it maybe, in a DC bar. Must be a great job.

No oz starts for Zucc line yesterday. What's that all about?
Well.. If I recall correctly one of the main broadcasters actually had their US correspondant on press conferences last time Mats was playing for the Rangers. She was the one driving Torts to the brink of insanity with all her Zucc questions
Holy crap, I was facepalming like a baws back then.
This line is not working well, but unless they start loosing AV will keep running it. Maybe if Pouliot makes more defensive blunders AV will lose his patience and try Miller or somerhing? Wouldn't mind. Think Pouliot is sniffing on AVs doghouse, and the reason behind the lack of OZ starts?
they have one "meh" game and all of a sudden they aren't working?
this has been easily our most consistent line for a while now.
Since December 12th the trio have combined for 39 points in 19GP...basically 2PPG for that line.
Theyve been terrific.
They are very productive for a 3rd line. I don't think that the fact that they haven't been our best line for the last couple of games means that the line isn't working anymore.
Admittedly, I didn't catch the Caps game so I dunno how they looked there.
I guess the canundrum is that we dont have a spot for (the then top point scorer) in our "top 6", so he's put on a line with 2 players that are kinda defining streaky.
It's a bit of a unheard of luxury when you can slot one of the top20 point scorers in the entire NHL, since game #9 (when Zucc started proudcing) on a line where production is "pleasantly welcome" instead of demanded every game.
Ofc if the special teams werent so disgustingly effecient, he'd be on a completely different line, since we'd need more ES production.
Take a look at the ice-time distribution. The notion of the top 6 kind of goes out the window. Ice-time is being distributed pretty evenly throughout the top 9 forwards.
It's not really about the ice time though. It's about who he plays with. Poo and Brass can have flashes of great, but they are _usually_ with Zuccarello more or less giving them the goal.
Zucc needs to be on a line with someone faster than himself. Having someone like Kreider or Hagelin on a 2 on 1 or breakaway would utilize his vision of the ice so much more than if Zuccarello is always the one who has to go in on the forecheck behind the goal.
12 minutes of ice time.... And when he was on the ice, Poo made some stupid mistakes. 2 penalties on Poo.
That line just isn't working any more, and Poo is to blame. He got some confidence back, which is good - but he's using that confidence to make stupid plays.
