Lol I just think that this is how Gallant is going to act with the media on injuries

Maybe, but there is always an abundance of caution in preseason when it comes to players who get dinged up. He was never coming back in the third after that collision.

This team dodging long term injuries to key players like Kravstov, Reaves, and Stromer

If Strome is only day to day the Rangers could be in a tough spot because you'd likely wnat to keep Barron up. But to keep Barron up someone else has to go down of the 23. There's no one, other than Kravtsov or Laf who can be sent down without passing through waivers. And I don't want to send down Hunt or Gauthier and risk losing them.

It doesn't sound like Strome is going to miss time, but if he does, he can be placed on IR (not LTIR). Putting him on IR would enable us to carry an extra player.

i don’t understand how the Rangers have been chippy basically all preseason and Tinordi has not once been part of it.
Yeah. I noticed that when Barron had 3 guys going after him, he just kind of glided over and didn't do much. Maybe he's trying to avoid getting hurt knowing Reaves is out. Idk.

Good game by Morgan Barron, but better off in Hartford than on the 4th line in NY. He will move up soon.

Gauthier does so much except score or put up points... real shame. Not a bad game, but enough? 13th/14th forward.

Hunt... hard to say. At this stage, he's not among the best 12. 13th or 14th forward probably.

McKegg. Not personal, but barely an NHL player at this stage. Probably back to Hartford.

If the regular 4th line turns out to be Blais-Rooney-Reaves, I'd be real happy with Hunt/Gauthier filling in on it when needed. I'm excited to see a solid 4th line.

One more thing on D: I think Tinordi was quite good/ok for a bottom pairing D. Nemeth was OK. I think Hajek lost his NHL job today and is HFD bound.

It does seem odd. Although the may have been making a conscious effort to prove he can play if needed in lieu of going out of his way to to fight.

min saying that, I was watching tonight and it was pretty evident that the Islanders were NOT taking the same liberties after the whistle with him out there.

For all the shit McKegg is getting, let’s all count our blessings knowing that he is going to be the Rangers 17th forward this year. 17th. He’s better than Digiuseppe and Howden from last year who were regulars in the lineup. He’s not an everyday NHL player but if the team needs to scrape that deep in the barrel, he’s not THAT bad.

You just hope gallant gives these kids the chance in these spots when the big guns aren’t getting it done. Can’t be giving the top unit 130 every pp. you’ve got other weapons.

has fil gotten any pp time ever? Look at that release christ play the kid

would have really loved to see what Fil is capable of for a whole year with Strome spot/ice time.
Team played well. No one was stand out terrible from our Fwds.
It’s great to see Chytil get the trick, kappo and LaF contributing, Barron out there. How bout Hunt??
Underrated pick up right there, that saucer pass to Chytil was a thing of beauty. That’s not in every 4th liners arsenal.

our bottom 6 in terms of balls talent and youth is solid for years to come. All of Hunt, Blais, and Reaves are solid Additions to this club by Drury. It was also smart keeping Rooney over blackwell, which he doesn’t get enough credit for. We’re getting an identity back. It’s refreshing.

Best preseason game I’ve ever seen in any sport. That was nuts. It really looked like Gallant let the kids take the reigns in the 3rd and OT. And they took it and ran with it. The most important trait to develop as a young player is confidence. And the whole kid squad got a ton of it tonight.

Also Islanders finally coming to the realization that we got a young fast competitive team… watch yo back fishsticks we coming for you

He was really solid today so I’ll give him a pass. I will say this though every time Tinordi is mentioned—we should’ve kept Smith

That’s how you tune up for the regular season not by playing cliffronningskid because you owe his dad a favor.

you put the guys in there that are going to play and you tell them to work. And they really all did. Isles brought out that nastiness in us we stood right in there. Thing is like Tampa the isles can’t out talent us and if you stand in there and fight the team with the talent is going to win. We’ve got a lot of it now and it’s supplemented with some adults in the room now

McKegg is not better than PDG or Howden
