Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Assuming the cap goes up to 82.5 mil next year as expected, we'll have 20 mil in cap space with 16 players signed.
Fox and Kakko will take up the bulk of that cap space. We would need to sign 4 or 5 more players.
Blais, Kravtsov, Gauthier and a backup goalie. Maybe Wall or Huska show that they are ready, or we bring in a cheap UFA. Chytil is promoted to 2C.

Value is good per year.
I don’t like the 8 years for a guy with consistent injury issues but nothing can be done now. He’s a Ranger and while I retain the right to complain about the deal from now till forever I’m obviously also pulling for him.
And yes the cap is going to rise precipitously soon at which point 8.5 will seem even better. It’s why Kakko should get a very long deal, as should Fox, ASAP.

8 year is brutal. Hopefully they get 3-4 solid years of production out of him relative to the AAV.
Disagree w building around Zibanejad to this degree. Concerned about how his game will hold up when this team is going for it in the postseason.
Especially concerned that the org thinks they are paying for a “200 ft all situations center” when in reality they are paying for a shot (an elite shot).

Not thrilled about the term. But when do you hear about good term once players hit this age? Good price otherwise. LTIR on the back end as others have said. Happy overall.
