I see a 2nd round pick and a kid like Robertson going in a trade.

It’s really telling this guy wants out immediately. Could Treliving get this guy for cheaper than on an open market

He likely will cost a 1st… if Canucks made a move I’d say it would look like this.

2024 1st round pick
Beauvillier
Jet Woo

For

Zadorov

Canucks roll these pairs:

Hughes-Hronek
Zadorov-Soucy
Cole-Myers
Friedman

Yikes.. they’d actually look really good.
If his price tag is a 1st..I’d pass..He would be a luxury to have ,but not a necessity..he’s not a top 4 Dman.

Canucks would be better off to wait and see what shakes down at the TDL ..I have no issues with moving the 1st..but not for a 3rd pairing D man.

Nobody cares whats the flames want bud, esp when its for a player who requested for a trade
A player requesting a trade doesn’t have any leverage when the team he’s playing for isn’t competitive. If he wants to mail it in or sit out, the Flames would be fine with that. They’ll be in no rush to deal him.

Even more important, he doesn't have trade protection, so he can't limit our options and he's in the final year of his deal so if he mails it in, his bag shrinks and he only f***s himself.
This is one of the rare times a trade request doesn't hurt.

What’s funny is the Flames have made it clear they’re not offering extensions to any pending UFAs. So Zadorov was on the block even before this - along with Hanifin, Tanev and Lindholm. This request doesn‘t change a thing.

If it came down to TO vs Van for Zardorov who has what is would take to make the deal, the best offer.

Now rememeber Big Z contract expires this season.

Both clubs will have cap issues next year too

Presently TO looks to be the solid club making the playoffs for a few years in a row.

Vancouver has Demko.

Calgary needs a fit for Huberdeau and good defence prospects

The Canucks could offer Garland, a 50pt player with retention of 1.5 mil a year with 3 years left on his deal. Include one of three "AA" D prospects and add a later round draft pick, they do have more to offer than TO.

TO's cap issues may come down to choosing between Nylander and Marner and Nylander does play center and would fit nicely with Huberdeau. TO's cap issues may be worse than the Canucks due to clause contracts. Other than Nylander they could offer up injured Liljegren and Timmins but that would hurt their depth. And Nylander is worth too much more than just Zardorov, Calgary would have to add.

Could be a block buster though.
Zardorov, Markstrom/Vladar and for Nylander, if they can get him to waive his clause, Jones and Timmins/? with a pick or a 3 way deal of some sort.

TO still needs a goalie so maybe they go in that direction first. Klinberg for Zardorov? Both expiring at the end of the year but Klinberg also had a clause.

Fun to imagine Zardorov dressing for TO or Vancouver tonight. :D

I wonder if Garland at 3.5 mil, a 50 point player not playing PP time, might entice Calgary? He might wake up Huberdeau's game some, he would certainly add to scoring.

That would be terrible asset management. They need to maximize their own return and not do things out of spite.

It’s not out of spite. He was already on the block along with every other UFA on the team. Terrible asset management would be trading him in a panic. The Flames aren’t in win-now mode so they’ll deal him but only when the right trade comes along.

No, Garland would be of almost zero interest to Calgary. He's had 50 points once and that was from riding shotgun to EP or the Horvat - Miller line. He not a play driver and Calgary is already overflowing with middle 6 talent.

The Canucks have been trying to trade Garland for like a year now, teams clearly don't want his contract. So I highly doubt Garland would be a main piece in a deal.

Honestly, the lack of a 2nd round pick by either Toronto or Vancouver makes them less likely destinations as I suspect the deal will be a 2nd+

I think Ottawa might be the best trade partner when it comes to Canadian teams. They have their 2nd, they could also use Pinto as bait, but I think we would have to add a little.

He is the Dman I've been wanting the Kings to pick up for a while now. He gives the Kings the opportunity to move Roy and bring up Clarke.
What kind of offer could you see LA making? With no 2nd, I was struggling to put an idea together.

That's not accurate. They made it clear all extension talks were being stopped for the time being.
That’s true but realistically there isn’t much time left to get new deals done. If they’re not talking now, then the odds are they’ll be gone before the deadline.

Highly doubt LA makes the move. LA management and coaching like the D-core right now even with Englund in the lineup. If he's retained at 50% than it might work but highly doubt LA moves a 1st for 3 straight years (unless it's for an Elite young goalie).

Zadorov (50%) + Vladar for Copley, Bjornfot, JAD, 2025 2nd

If it comes down to Tonight VS Vancouver I suspect Zadorov would go to Toronto just for the fact that Vancouver is not just a conference rival, but a division rival and that does matter in a lot of cases
