Honestly, only idiot measure zadorov’s contribution by points
I tried by hits, despite playing significantly more minutes, he didn't win in that category either.

If you really want him, you trade for him, otherwise who knows where he ends up.... or just walk for nothing and sign in the off season.
Well, the season is 12 games in so there's lots of movement from now till March 8th. Teams making a move now might not be in the playoffs by March 8th so no, your suggestion of trading for an asset for a potential rental so early in the season before deadline makes no sense when you consider how fast teams are moving up and down the standings. If you really want him, you trade for him, otherwise who knows where he ends up.
Plus, as a rental the team acquiring him is looking to fill a need for the playoffs.
He wants a lot of things - probably to be on a good team and an extension - but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a contract.
Yeah no - lots of people will tell you can't just say whatever nonsense comes out from your skull.
Lol you should really apply that second sentence to yourself. Too hard to connect that he wanted to sign his next contract? He wants a lot of things - probably to be on a good team and an extension - but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a contract.

You are under the mistaken impression that he has any say in the matter. Why would Z want to go from a terrible team to a terrible team?
I figure it'll be January before he gets moved, in an early rental type of situation.Well, the season is 12 games in so there's lots of movement from now till March 8th. Not even including the decision to re sign as an extension or agree to a new contract : lots of players can say where they go particularly those that need contract extensions - if a team senses he has no interest in playing for them during critical times including the playoffs - even as a rental - it'd be hard to imagine them making a solid offer. You are under the mistaken impression that he has any say in the matter.
I'd do that. Flames don't have to take any bad contracts and save retention spots for Hanifin, Lindholm, & Tanev. Meanwhile, Zadorov probably gets a better chance to showcase himself in Arizona.Florida's 2nd & Colorado's 3rd?
The 'Yotes don't need no retention.
Sure.... common sense.. LOL. You should look for yours. Not even including the decision to re sign as an extension or agree to a new contract : lots of players can say where they go particularly those that need contract extensions - if a team senses he has no interest in playing for them during critical times including the playoffs - even as a rental - it'd be hard to imagine them making a solid offer.
But that's just common sense, who knows what you'd be thinking otherwise....
Again, you'reI figure it'll be January before he gets moved, in an early rental type of situation.

He was interested in extending with Calgary except they've put a hold on all extension talks. I'm pretty sure he'd be interested in signing with most other teams assuming the offer was fair. We're not talking about a top pairing dman here.
Lots I didn’t know I couldn’t say what I think?
Not when Klingberg is essentially a cap dumpKlingberg plus a 2nd. Zadorov is a pending UFA, so a 1st is too steep.
He's a 3rd pairing d man that is often out of position. Good hitter but no offense watched him for years on the AvsNice joke
