I think all the Watsons, MacEwens, etc puts the light on HOW valuable Chris Neil was. Not only he was a fierce intimidation factor but he could play 2-way hockey and not be a liability at ES. If only Boucher could develop into a Chris Neil (very unlikely), that reach would have been worth it

I don't think we should break up Norris-Batherson, they were money together in 2021-22

Tkachuk - Stützle - Giroux
Greig - Norris - Batherson
Berggren - Pinto - Joseph
Crookshank - Kastelic - MacEwen
Kelly

If Cat get moved to Wings for Berggren and we get Tarasenko

Tkachuk - Stützle - Giroux
Tarasenko - Norris - Batherson
Berggren - Pinto - Joseph
Crookshank - Kastelic - Smejkal

Spares: Kelly, Greig, Macewan

Physical 4th line player at league minimum. Happy to have a replacement for Watty.

Not worried about replacing Watson on the PK. Norris, Pinto, Stutzle, Kastelic, Joseph are all solid PK options at forward.

It's odd what happens when the coach uses 4 lines and 3 pairs instead of 2 1/2 and 2.

Andlauer must be shaking his head thinking they had 5 Dman playing last night because of Cap issues and Macewen making $750 000 playing on the 3rd line in Belleville.

I have liked macewens game lately. He has played better, too bad they have to send him down. The three year contract is the reason he's always the one they send down over someone like Kastelic. They know no one will pick him up.
Once we're past the trade deadline Kubalik will be off the Ottawa roster one way or another. MacEwen will be back.

This guy doesn't deserve an NHL roster spot at this point.

He's in the league to hit and fight. He does neither. He's Zach Sanford - big, mobile, and no pulse.

Money's the same down in Belleville, so not a lot of incentive for him to fight or do much of anything. He's got another year on the books too.

absolute f***ing plug that goes out there and does shit all.

doesn’t even know what his job is and even when he does it, he sucks ass at it and loses all the time.

waste of a roster spot.

Guaranteeing it's his last NHL contract though. No drive to stay in the league.

He probably didn't even think he'd get this contract - three years of guaranteed money for a guy like this is not common.

So he's playing with house money in a way.
