I understand the league just fine. I just think it's interesting you're rushing to let your front office off the hook for a trade that they're going to lose and have started on damage control mode before it's even made.

Miller scored 100 points last year. It doesn't matter that he's old or a piece of shit, that is worth a lot. Particularly for a team starving for offense and star power. It wasn't that long ago that you lot had him in the same tier of player as Leon Draisaitl, and Miller has been a toxic POS for years now. That won't be news to anyone. You guys also said he was a bargain at his cap hit. His age won't matter to a team that wants to win now. That leaves... what, trade restrictions? Half the damn league has trade restrictions.

And yes, it's funny, as a fan of a rival team it's downright f***in hilarious. If it was us that this was happening to you guys would be downright cackling with glee. It's even funnier now that you're getting so worked up about it in a quest to justify your front office getting fleeced before they've even been fleeced.

what are you even debating here? your lack of understanding of perceived value? or trying to convince canucks fans to hope for a bigger return (that definitely makes no sense) because....? either way you are not using any logic here

...didn't say Jersey should do it...just that the cost would be him if they want Miller, imo...
Chytil, 1st and Lindgren or a prospect (Sykora, Chmelar or someone like that) was the rumored offer from the Rangers. So why the Devils should pay Mercer and Nemec for Miller? I mean Chytil, 1st and Lindgren or a prospect << Mercer and Nemec.

The Devils can make similar package without sacrificing Nemec.

I like Miller and think he is a very good player, but he is being consistently overrated in terms of trade value. Currently 31, making 8 million/year until he's 37. He's not likely* to produce like he did nor at that cap value for several years of that remaining term. His reputation might weaken his value, his potential demands for trade location might weaken his value and the endless media drama might weaken the Canucks leverage.

The rumors/speculation about the possible returns in a trade with the Devils and Rangers are not popular with Canucks fans here it seems. If something like those rumors come true, Vancouver fans are going to be disappointed and they're probably going to be winners of this trade within a year or two.
