I've been saying the same, but the reports coming out that he wants this done "yesterday" are swaying me a bit 😂

Another interpretation you can draw from that, and from the reports that he's fine returning to Columbus next year, is that he wants this decided before it becomes a big PR problem. That time has now passed.

You would rather a second line winger... admittingly on a sweetheart deal, with no other real good assets at play, over a 26 year old defenseman with very high defensive upside? I honestly do not believe Moser is that far off from Harley, but maybe I'm delusional
Yeah.

Our defense played really well when Z was out this year. They honestly played better team defense without him. We scored the most goals in the NHL from defensemen. They're gonna be fine.

Forwards need a boost.

So NHL players get the highest % of their contract guaranteed, the longest term, and by far the most easily accessible trade protection?

That tweet is 20 days old. I think it was referring to Robertson and Seattle.
I'm just sure what your point is

haha, yeah, I think that's because it's now known CBJ is exploring a trade. So he knows it's happening.

The Leafs can offer Knies who is on a very team friendly deal. Even if he’s reached his peak it’s good value and that’s in the unlikely scenario that he won’t continue to improve over the next couple seasons, especially if he can have a more clearly defined role than he had with the Leafs. If Werenski is set on Toronto, Knies is just as appealing as Harley.
Why would Columbus take a other forward over a defenseman coming back? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Nobody has verified a thing...it's all " I believe" and that is not factual. Who is he going to partner with that is better than Heiskanen? That would be the top D pair in the league by a fair margin. Oh joy go to Toronto and pair up with Morgan Reilly carrying his ass up and down the rink. Hedman is an aging dinosaur and Philly has Sanheim 🤣

Can a Columbus fan please confirm if Werenski regularly plays on his off side?

I don't get what Werenski did wrong here. Team talked with him about whether or not he would be signing in two years. Is he obligated to say yes?
someone leaked it to weekes, weekes announced it during the lumbus draft pick. it created a distraction and the distraction is forcing the trade. if nobody said anything, we would all be talking about zach winning the norris.

The Jackets have LD Mateychuk ready to lead the offense from the backend. They've also got LD Provorov long term and a lot of LD prospects, especially Jackson Smith who will be in the NHL in a year.

There's more room up front. We'd probably rather have Robertson over Harley, for instance. There's just no way to make that work.

A topline forward would be very welcome for Werenski. Trouble is I don't think Knies is that good, maybe a topline forward but not one I think would help us enough.

End of his current deal would be 13 years after they drafted him, he has signed 3 contracts with them, is willing to honor his current one and has given them notice he wants a change at the end. Most people don’t spend 13 years at the same company anymore and aren’t labeled scumbags and assholes. His right not to want to go to Dallas for next 2 years if he doesn’t plan on extending there.

I would put money that Toronto cannot outbid Tampa. You are not replacing Werenski with a second line wing, that's peak levels of delusion lol
Calling Knies a 2nd line winger is delusional. Very clearly a #1 winger

#56 in terms of points scored by forwards. #13 in terms of points scored by left wingers

Also has a power forward element to his game.

friedman suggests possibly florida.

what in the world would florida offer knowing that don waddell wants roster players and mostly not prospects.

The Panthers can be a player, if they want to be. Logically, given the volume of full trade protection on that roster, that means the willingness to trade Lundell.

Unproven until proven NHL defenseman. Knies is a good player but I don't think any trade for Werenski is going to get a young cost controlled D man through the 2033-2034 season like Harley. His $10.5 cap hit will be a steal in a couple years when everyone else has $10 million dollar defenseman that are not as good as Harley.
