It's not just losing Hyman though, it's really a culmination of losing all their hard working and gritty players over the last 3 years. That Bottom 6 they had a few years ago was hell to play against. Now it's just a bunch of guys doing figure eights every shift. Their bottom 6 this year is eerily reminiscent of our putrid bottom 6 over the last 2-3 years. The Leafs really miss Hyman. He brought a lot to that team. That team is going to have a long season unless they can find a way to adjust to losing that player.

TO not only lost Hyman but they've lost players like Brown and Kadri as well, among others.
He is relentless, has a constant motor and makes guys around him play harder.
He's a great fit, trusted in all situations and exactly the upgrade in the top-6 this team was desperate for, he's making a significant difference. He really is.
A famous quote by Babcock is:
Every line needs a Zach Hyman.
It really is true.
How's Hyman working out (try to filter out the winning streak) ?
Hard not to with the person he is and the way he plays the game.I think I love him.
It's not what you hope Khaira and Archibald can be, they just are those players. Exactly right. It's just nice to have these Hyman and Foegele types that can play meaningful minutes and bring something other than just energy.
It's not like we didn't have these guys before, it's just now they aren't #12/13 forwards.
He really is.

He’s exactly as advertised. Hard worker with a great attitude that puts the puck in the net. Def going to be a fan favourite. He really is.

If Dubas isnt fired, I dont know what. ALl strong defensive players are gone. And left is very streaky lightweighted offensive players like Marner, Tavares, W Nylander, Kerfoot.
Yey
This is a such a dumb tweet hahaha.
Hyman leaps off the page analytically. Our media in this town is horrible.
So why didn’t Toronto prioritize him?I got a laugh out of that too. Spec pretty clearly doesn't even understand what he's going to war against.
If you were to rank the top forwards by analytics last season, it's basically: Colorado's 1st line > Florida's 1st line > Boston's 1st line > Hyman.
So why didn’t Toronto prioritize him?
Honestly he could have 0 points and I'd still be happy with him. He does the little things others don't want to do and he's got more skill and speed than I initially thought. Having Hyman and Foegle on this team has brought out so much more from players playing with them than I ever imagined. The hard work is contagious and our former hard worker (Kassian) is actually playing hard again and I think it has more to do with Foegle and Hyman than anything else.
Every player needs other players to play well, even Hyman. Hopefully his hustle doesn’t wane.they thought matthews carried him to those results in his purse

Because Nylander learned 'IT'. When leafs had Hyman-AM-Nylander as their 1st line, Nylander was the problem too. Besides not showing up every shift, Nylander wanted to make the plays every shift and plays dead on "stone-hand" Hyman's hands every time. But but analytics!
Also Nylander is not the problem.

Seems to me he will need to find a different gear. Hopefully it won’t detract from his results. A similar thing happens to a lot of players. The whole team has to shoulder the hustle work otherwise individual parts start to break down. And yes I am talking about the whole teamHe skates hard always.
Sometimes to his detriment. He hasn't been healthy for the last 2 playoffs. Maybe more
