So the talking heads from Vancouver are pushing Cole Cassels will be the answer to The McJesus question

They seem to have this strange conception that Cassels single-handedly shut down McDavd. In fact the Generals played an effective team game of clogging the neutral zone and double, sometimes triple, teaming McDavid (meanwhile, he still scored 7 points in 5 games). That, compounded by the disappearance of Erie's offence, most notably Strome, who had a terrible series, was the main catalyst for the Generals' victory in the wake of "shutting down" McDavid.

It'll be good for Canuck fans to see tonight how insignificant Cassels is by himself when it comes to locking-up McDavid.

Draisaitl said in an interview yesterday "I don't really need to talk about him at this point. He's a great player and a great guy."

He seemed annoyed and I don't blame him. I think he cares about himself at camp more then Connor obviously, no disrespect to Connor lol

They should just show McDavid highlights in place of his interview, and interview other players. I don't watch any of his interviews anymore because he is so bored of the questions haha

Edit: Actually I would not mind hearing the length of his naps

This. Erie would of won if the rest of the team could score. They were putting everyone on McDavid. That won't be effective tonight, especially with Chase on his wing. I could see a Moroz or Chase fight with Cassels

Of course all players at these camp on focus on making the big team sooner rather then later . McDavid stand in Draisaitl way . It the nature of professional sports everyone at camp is trying to take a job from you , but it is these players drive that have got them this far . I am sure once they are on the same team they will get along

I liked Moroz's answer when asked what it will be like playing with McDavid. "Have you asked him what it will be like playing with me?" LOL. Do these media guys not get that they're embarrassing McDavid when they keep asking his teammates to talk about him? Give it a rest already.

Any chance you can watch with her?

D:

(One of my best friends pulled off that move, and they're married now with 2 kids).

You can't snuggle with McDavid on a cold night, though.

Well she'd probably think i was a perv if I invited her over to "watch" the game. Maybe I'll seduce her with my charm and she will want to come back to my place for the 3rd period :naughty:

What dumb questions :laugh::shakehead

I don't know what's more cringe worthy - the questions getting asked McDavid, or the questions getting asked Nurse, Draisaitl, and the other guys ABOUT McDavid.

Drai in particular is getting extremely unintentionally funny. You can tell hes having to fight hard not to roll his eyes

You'd think they'd take the freaking hint, but the Edmonton media is just so damn shameless.

During the Gretz years every player was asked the same question 1000 times

Pat Hughes was interviewed after he scored 5 goals in one game and one of the first question was "So--did the advice Gretz give you help you score the goals"?

This should be rule 1 of the Young Stars Drinking Game. Drink whenever an interviewer asks a random player an unsolicited McDavid question.

And Appleby stood on his head. So many factors.

Not one of the first overalls, but Eberle dominated this tournament when he played it.

I took a stroll by the Canucks GDT, one member said something to the effect of "I can't decide if McDavid will go over or under 50 points". Another responded "Do you mean just this game or for the entire tournament"

For every 20 boneheaded comments from fans of other fanbases, it's nice to see there are one or two fans that see McDavid for what he is and are excited to see his performance at the NHL level.

2-3 years in the AHL

But my little voice tells me he is not willing to do more than 1 year in the AHL

I don't really agree. I'm sure he's aware that he has a ways to go to become an NHL player and he had no problem coming over in jr.

As for the above question I'd expect him to be the ECHL starter to begin the year (unless one of Scrivens or Nilsson gets claimed on waivers after camp). I also expect him to see some time backing up Brossoit in the AHL, especially if injuries occur. My expectations are a guy who could be a backup in a few years (whether its with the Oil or not will depend on how the guys ahead of him on the depth chart perform). Could surprise and be a starter someday, but that would be a very nice surprise more than anything.

He signed a 2 year ELC; why do you say that?

That said, the backup job could/should be wide open next year assuming Talbot takes the reins this year and is re-signed.
