People are getting on Markstrom for the second goal? I agree with Dano that it was a one-in-a-million play where the dump off the board goes perfectly to Svechnikov and he put it in the exact place it had to be to go in.

I don’t know, sometimes good players make good shots. I thought that was a good one.

All that said, his save after that to keep it 2-2 was stellar. And I think a bit under appreciated given the outcome of the game.

In the arena that goal looked 50% luck on the bounce, 50% elite placement shot

Enjoy this discourse lol

Well, until Luke gets going offensively and/or Casey or Nemec are called back up, Dougie is really all we got for offense from the blue line. Siegs-Kovy is a shutdown pairing, and Pesce is not here to score.

So I’m glad Dougie is racking up points to make up for the (increasingly frequent) defensive lapses.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a big Dougie fan. But man it can frustrating to watch his decision making when he’s the last guy back defending the rush.

@My3Sons Help me out here! I think this is some of my best work

From the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:

The Jatravartid people of Viltvodle VI believe that the entire Universe was in fact sneezed out of the nose of a being called the Great Green Arkleseizure.

The Jatravartids, who live in perpetual fear of the time they call The Coming of The Great White Handkerchief, are small blue creatures with more than fifty arms each, who are therefore unique in being the only race in history to have invented the aerosol deodorant before the wheel.

thought Bowers and Dowling played an honest north south game.

4th line looked INFINITELY better than it has in weeks. I don’t necessarily expect that to be the norm, but boy it was nice to see them take regular shifts and create some quality chances. I would’ve flipped if Dowling finished his chance that hit the post.

Was today iron day or what? Nico, Timo and Dowling all hit posts for us. Necas hit one for Carolina, I think maybe another one did as well.

I wasn’t going to say anything, because I don’t know who the f*** this is, but, yes, this post is remarkably unaware of how dopey it is.

He’s basically a 3rd pair PP specialist right now. Idk about you but I think you could do a lot better with 9 mil in cap space than that

The bounce is what it is but svechnikov is basically below the face off dot with no one driving center lane. He doesn’t need to be so deep in net which opened up far side. Bad positioning and kind of lack of situational awareness

I don’t know, it was such a quickly developing play that I think even if he didn’t play it his best positionally, it took a perfect shot to beat him.

I think 99 times out of 100, that play is a nothing play. The dump in and subsequent shot were picture perfect.

Im sure this got shared already, but was Pesce really this noticeably negative?

Pesce was laying his body out in front of shots all night and breaking up plays. These cards have shit algorithms or something whacky. Dowling gets that much positive and Pesce is that negative? BS
