Hynes was real worried about stability with Hughes last night, so for tonight’s game he puts the most chaotic player in the league with him lol. Though let’s not kid ourselves, those lines will get bingo balled 10 mins in

He's like a Jay Pandolfo that can actually score haha. Maybe more like a John Madden.

I have been struggling to find a Coleman devil comparison. ..

I think he's way more talked than Pandolfo, not close defensively to Madden...sometimes he reminds a bit of Clarkson, I think Coleman is more talented and not as tough though....and sometimesI even see a little Langenbrunner.

This might sound out of left field...but I thiink he's closest to Jamie without his shot.

Yeah I don't think even Shiney Head is dense enough to demote Gusev to the fourth line in his second game, after he scored in both regulation and the shootout in his first. If he was changing lines last night he sure as shooting is changing them tonight anyway.

He isn't far from Madden defensively and I could easily see him being on the same level. 17-18 Coleman was insane defensively

Why would Gusev scoring in the shootout have absolutely any bearing on where he plays in the lineup?

I would've loved to have seen

Hall-Hischier-Palmieri
Coleman-Zajac-Simmonds
Wood-Zacha-Bratt
Gusev-Hughes-Boqvist

Zacha plays very well with Bratt, Hughes and Gusev showed a lot of chemistry, and the top 6 is the top 6.

Wood doesn’t have the hands or the he’d to play with Hughes. I guess they want his size.

If it's anything like their reasoning for putting Hayden there then it's "stability" which probably does have to do with size. So stupid

He changed up the lines for no reason. I don't have any faith in him at all, none whatsoever, sorry. Any I had, is completely gone.

I don't think Wood needs skill to be effective with Hughes....I think he needs to make room by going to the net and causing havoc for Hughes to survey and be opportunistic.

He just needs to control the puck better along the boards and he will be ok.

colemans underlying stats were leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. Dude has an incredible amount of skill and ability.
Like seriously, how many players like Coleman end up with an 85% CF% against a pretty good team like the Jets while mostly playing against their top players? Coleman played the most (9+ minutes) against Wheeler, Scheifele, and Ehlers and completely caved them in.

Do you have to make myopic points for the sake of being 110% literal? Obviously it doesn't, I was just saying he had a good debut last night and showed a lot more skill than general 'fourth liners' do.

Like what Zacha did on Gusev's goal. That goal doesn't happen if not for Zacha's drive to the net, that I don't think anyone really mentioned.

Although, I'm really not expecting Wood to actually do anything smart. Hopefully he can just do "wood" things.

Wood has been moved, Gusev has been moved, Bratt has moving nonstop even in game last night...and we haven't even seen if there are any D changes.
Bratt really showed me something last night.

The kid can play anywhere in the lineup and not look out of place, if not outright shine.

Shades of Elias, I swear.

The mistake here is getting hung up on which line is written higher on paper.

The lines that work will play. There is skill everywhere. It’s depth.
