Not including anyone drafted post-pandemic because we don’t know anything about them yet. Apologies if I missed someone from the early days, too. Voracek was my first favorite player.

Nash - Dubois - Voracek
Atkinson - Johansen - Bjorkstrand
Anderson - Wennberg - Marchenko already maybe
Jenner - Brassard - Calvert

Werenski - Savard
Klesla - Murray
Methot - Gavrikov

Mason
Merzlikins? Korpisalo?

Jesus, this is grim. Hopefully most of these names get forced off as the kids drafted in the current rebuild take over.

Rules are the players must have been drafted and developed by your team

Earliest you can go back is 1990

For the Sens my pick is

Stuzle - Spezza - Alfredson
Tkachuk - Yashin - Hossa
Havlat - Bonk - Stone
Greig - Fisher - Neil

Method - Karlsson
Phillips - Volchenkov
Sanderson - Zub

Emery
Forsberg
Pavol Demitra should be there somewhere.

Oilers:

Smyth - McDavid - Hemsky
Hall - Draisaitl - Eberle
RNH - Arnott - Comrie
Satan - Horcoff - Stoll

Nurse - Bouchard
Klefbom - Petry
Poti - Greene

Dubnyk
Skinner

The defence isn't as deep as you would expect for 34 years of drafting.
Pretty sure Oilers had guys like Messier, Anderson, Fuhr, Ranford, Tikkanen, Lowe, Murphy in 1990.

EDIT: Just read the rules..Is 1990 the playing year or draft year?

This is probably the best one. Boy did the Blues have some absolutely brutal drafts throughout the 90s

This was pretty tough. I could be missing guys...

As much as I love PJ, feels like DeBrusk or Smolinski probably grabs that spot.

I like this teams chances.
Byfield was drafted as a center would he count as a center for this example?

I would have liked Umberger and Forsling for the team, but they were traded too quickly for me to consider them 'developed by'

Not being able to include '88 (Linden) and '89 (Bure) hurts a lot. Including Nedved is iffy. Also that 3rd line sounds absolutely awful to play against.
That's still a really solid team at their peaks though.

Wade Redden was pretty good at his peek. Better than Methot or Phillips. He had three top 10 Norris finishes.

I get where you are going with the pairings but I think peak Redden Karlsson could be very good.

i’m going to interpret this as the player had to be drafted 1990 or later, so a guy like trevor linden, who played almost his entire career after 1990 doesn’t count, because he was from the 1988 draft. but i also interpret developed as he became a fulltime NHLer on your team, so a guy like mike peca, who only played 37 games as a canuck but came up (albeit briefly) on the farm team and played most the lockout season on the canucks, counts.

so...

sedin sedin boeser
schaefer pettersson kesler
cooke peca scatchard
hansen horvat walker

hughes ohlund
edler aucoin
slegr bieksa

demko
schneider

had to cheat with kesler on the RW, which is where he played the one year we had sundin, and also scatchard, who did play some wing too

man, slim pickins on LW2 and LD3 — and i’m not sure ben hutton doesn’t belong there over slegr

but good enough center depth that there’s no place for petr nedved

Sharks:
though they are new enough to have their entire history in the time window, they suffer for the fact that some of their biggest players were acquired in trade (Thornton, Burns, Boyle, Nolan, etc) and a few of their early guys weren't necessarily "drafted" by the team (like Arturs Irbe, drafted by the North Stars but inherited by the Sharks as part of the convoluted birth of the team).

So with that in mind...

Patrick Marleau - Logan Couture - Joe Pavelski
Ray Whitney - Tomas Hertl - Jonathan Cheechoo
Marco Sturm - Macklin Celebrini* - Timo Meier
Ryane Clowe - Marcel Goc - Jeff Friesen
ex: Milan Michalek, Viktor Kozlov

Sandis Ozolinsh - Marc-Edouard Vlasic
Brad Stuart - Marcus Ragnarsson
Mike Rathje - Christian Ehrhoff
ex: Scott Hannan, Justin Braun

Evgeni Nabokov/Miikka Kiprusoff
ex: Vesa Toskala

Yes, I'm putting Celebrini on the team already. Fight me :P

If we want to make thing about it then fine, scratch him and bump Kozlov up onto the main roster. Obviously he's more skilled than Goc, but if we want the 4th line to at least passably have some 4th line identity then Goc fits that intent better. Also Kozlov always "felt" more like a Panther than a Shark to me since he under-performed during his time in teal.

I'm also not picking between Nabokov and Kiprusoff for the starter/backup roles. Kipper had the more lauded career but that was after he left the Sharks. Nabokov is no slouch and is pretty much the iconic Shark goalie (with a small potential nod to Irbe during the expansion years)

I do wish I could've had some more help in the bottom 6 centers list but the likes of Coyle and Bonino were traded before they ever made it up to San Jose so I'd hardly think they count for this exercise.

This team sucks. LOL

It's true haha. If you take out McDavid on the account of him being a no brainer gift and really no drafting and development skill involved. Then account for the relatively high position we have tended to draft at. The Oilers have been a dumpster fire at the draft and development table for 30 years.

You could certainly slot him in there if you wanted as the Kings HAVE played him at that position. I tried to keep the players as close to their position that they played as possible but there's some fudging in there as well. Nothing specific was mentioned about their positions though...but I did try to keep that consistent.
