Also, for best games in toughest competition for Surin, just go to youtube.com/mhl_rus and watch SKA vs Lokomotiv full games, under Live, they are the latest games obviously.

Some of his defenisve deficiencies makes him a risk to draft here - Brunette doesnt like them in a player.
But if he can hammer some if that out then this sounds like it could a pretty good pick.
He had a ton of penalty minutes this year - 108 in 42 games. He will fit in nicely with L'Heureux and Lauzon. If nothing else, we are getting a nice collection of pricks to play against.
More dominant in comparison to his teammates than Demidov in MHL playoffs but also a more finished product. Personally had him #15.
His physicality is exaggerated IMO, he can lay big hits but more than that, he went very hard in puck pursuits and almost always came out with the puck. Small area playmaker and finisher, not a sniper really. Suits his style and Nashville's obviously. Really good pick.
It is pretty rare for an 18 year old to stick with the KHL team. Last year only 12 players played 30 or more KHL games and were 18 or younger. 39 played atleast 1 game. Out of 800+ KHL players. I hope he can stick. He plays an heavy game and has a good frame so he should be able to hang.Surin had his first preseason game yesterday, when Lokomotiv won 4-1 over Kunlun.
Surin played as the 2LW and had two primary assists in the game. Certainly encouraging given his spot on the roster in the KHL is all but guaranteed. If he gets the spot, he will most likely start out as a winger.
His teammate Daniil But (12th OA in 2023) played 55 games in the KHL last season even though putting up "just" 1.00 PPG in the MHL a year before. Surin was 1.24 PPG in the MHL in his DY.It is pretty rare for an 18 year old to stick with the KHL team. I hope he does make the KHL and he tears it up. I think his attitude will help carry him. We will see though. Statistically, it isnt likely but i think he has a decent shotHis teammate Daniil But (12th OA in 2023) played 55 games in the KHL last season even though putting up "just" 1.00 PPG in the MHL a year before. I do agree, though, it's not highly likely but certainly possible.
I'm all aboard the train. I was incredibly impressed in camp. I think he's going to explode up our rankings. Extremely mature game.Surin building a case for himself in the pre-season...
Radulov gonna show him all the hot spots on and off the iceSurin building a case for himself in the pre-season...
He sure doesn't lack for confidence!
"I really hoped that Nashville would take me. I wanted to get into this team. I like it because there are no Russian franchise players like Alexander Ovechkin in Washington and Evgeni Malkin in Pittsburgh. My goal is to become such a player for the Predators."
If that's his thought process and he doesn't become worried about the money he's heading in the right direction. Seems to be some guys now want the money before they do anything, when generally the best players just play the game, they know the money will come."I really hoped that Nashville would take me. This guy is going to work very hard to be the best player he can be. His attitude, confidence, and playstyle will take him far.
He is getting tips from Radulov as well. Hopefully, Radulov has matured enough since his first and second times here that he is giving solid advice. If that's his thought process and he doesn't become worried about the money he's heading in the right direction. That's good, given his drive. Nothing like putting the spurs to the bronco when they throw the gate open.Surin's push at training camp didn't quite earn him a spot in the starting lineup. He's the 13th forward in tonight's season opener.
Better to ask on the main prospects forum where all the KHL observers hang out?Just stats watching here, 6 games, no points. Is he playing limited minutes? How does he look?
This is a crazy awesome attitude for a Russian to have. Historically, Russians feel more comfortable going to team that already has at least one other Russian. I can't say I blame them at all. That makes Surin's attitude so unique. To want to be "the Russian" on the team is a good sign. If Radulov really is mentoring him that is good for his offensive game, but not so sure about his mental."I really hoped that Nashville would take me. I wanted to get into this team.
