A time limit of some sort would definitely freshen the MITB briefcase concept up. Maybe create a sense of urgency. As it stands, there is no official rule that states how long the briefcase holder can wait.

At the same time, a story where there are two briefcase holders at the same time from consecutive years would also be a change of pace.

I think somebody carried the briefcase almost a full year and they were mentioning it then. It could’ve been ten years ago for all i know

If that is the case (and it may very well be) they certainly have never used the time limit to advance the story or create a sense of urgency.

They have had a handful of winners hold the case a bit longer than Priest has, but it looks like the longest was Carmella at 287 days, so nobody got even as close as a month away from running out of time

They should let Priest go right down to the wire.
