They’re clearly doing Seth vs. Punk at Wrestlemania, not sure why anyone thought Seth could or should lose, Triple H obviously does not hotshot titles, and putting it on Jinder just to spite Tony Khan is something only someone named Vince would do, either one.

His first run set Smackdown back a year. It was f***ing awful.

Meth.

But seriously it was a heat pad thing.
I don't think it was awful because of Jinder himself. He was booked very weak.

What was the point of having Jinder in a title match? It seems like a very McMahon thing to do.

They had a winter storm I'm sure lots of ppl couldn't make it in there

I wasn't really just talking crowd noise. It's too small for the business they're doing right now.

Side note that probably nobody cares about: In 2014 I drove down to Houston on Spring Break with some friends. We came back up through Arkansas after they had a "Winter Storm" that left a whopping 2-3 inches on the ground.

... There were stretches with semi's overturned, vehicles pulling off to the side of the road, nobody going more than 40. And we were the assholes with Indiana plates blowing by at 75MPH.

At one point we stopped at a gas station and the one across the street was caved in. They're not prepared for snow at all down there. And the problem is, while it doesn't happen often, it happens enough and does enough damage that they should be prepared.

So they could have a title match on TV to promote.

I'm not a big fan of doing a quick hot potato of a title just for a giggle.

It's just f***ing stupid. How did he earn a shot? He was off TV since his last run essentially, didn't win anything. I just don't like that. Never have, never will.

I don't mind Jinder losing, but a lot of the Rumble feuds I feel didn't get moved forward with the exception of New Day vs. Imperium.

They effectively killed the Truth/Judgment Day arc. I would have had Priest showing more restraint and hesitancy while JD interfered and Finn rolled him up or something. They could have done that through Wrestlemania, have him cost Priest the cash in inadvertently, etc. They still may do that. What is Seth doing at the Rumble anyway? Pitiful that there's no booked match for a flagship title. Why aren't the tag belts being built up for a storyline?

Just really weak booking with the exception of the men's Rumble match and the undisputed title.

Based on them mentioning Aldis Tweeting him, it would seem they at least have something in the works for him.

Maybe they thrust him into a big spot so that people take him seriously in a mid-card spot where they want to use him? We kinda see all the time with longstanding guys who have been stagnant for years, that when the company goes to push them, the fans don't take it seriously and it doesn't take off. Maybe it's kind of a reversal of that?

I'm a big fan of longer title runs... But you've gotta spread them a bit. You've got Roman holding a belt for 3 1/2 years, Seth's going to hold the other belt for nearly a year, (If not longer) and Gunther's going to hold his belt for nearly 2 years. That's three of the four big belts that haven't had any movement in a year. The fourth main belt is currently on Logan Paul, which is a great move from a promotional standpoint, but terrible when you consider he's rarely around and the other three belts aren't moving and haven't moved recently.

You can do long title reigns and still have a belt change every 3-4 months. It feels like they're trying to copy the UFC with their title runs, which doesn't really work (Outside Roman) because UFC champs will only fight 2-3 times a year. Seth's defended that belt probably 20+ times between PPV and TV.

As for Roman, unlike most, I actually don't have a problem with his long title reign. He's still drawing and his shit is still good. If anything, my problem is the constant booking that every single f***ing match he has to have help to win. The guy is 6' 3" 260+. He's bigger than most everybody in the main event scene besides Brock. There's zero reason he shouldn't be able to beat some of these guys clean.

The other issue is, I think it's too obvious that Cody is "The one". Roman's title reign is long enough at this point that, when he gets pinned clean for the belt, it should be an "Oh shit", almost like Brock pinning Taker, to a much smaller degree. If Cody walks into Mania and pins him, you're absolutely not getting that reaction. Everybody is expecting that.

Roman should win the four way clean to give him more credibility. Make it look bigger when Cody/whoever finally beats him.

Another Bloodline interference angle would be so boring and predictable.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Aldis ban the Bloodline from ringside for the match.

It has been interesting seeing some folks on Twitter getting on HHH because he doesn't book like that.

He has his long term plans and he does not like to deviate unless injuries force him to. Dude has zero interest in hot potato or car crash booking.

I honestly prefer booking like this as it makes the big shows and highs mean a lot more, even if it can make some of the B PPVs or some weekly TV in the dull times not feel as big.

Black and Gold was booked the exact same way, but people didn't really notice because no one was watching NXT weekly, they just went from Takeover to Takeover.

It'd be nice to get the straps on DIY and create a legit tag team division. Go ahead and merge the belts and just have the champs defend on both shows.

Somewhat off topic but the first Takeover I watched, I hadn't watched the network NXT episodes, maybe some clips on Youtube, but the pre-match video packages were so good that I felt "filled in" on the storylines. This continued throughout until it was on tv and I was able to stream episodes.
