McMichael has a 2.3 P/60 at evens the last two years, hate hate hate this for Washington. They should've stuck with their youth and picks.

Don't like this for Washington.
I don't understand it from Wash POV. They moved Carlsson out and Ovy is a free agent. Their cup team save for Wilson is basically all but gone. Not sure why they moved a 25 year old C, plus Gastrin and a 1st for a 28 year old winger who has fallen out of favour of 2 good HC in Berube and Monty.

So what are we doing about Left Wing?

???? - PLD - Kyrou

Ovi (cause he'll probably re-sign) - Strome - Leonard

Protas - Protas - Wilson

??/Miro - Sourdif/Lapierre - Frank

Please tell me there going to get Robertson next (though they could also just slide PLD or Strome to Wing and move Sourdif to 3C)
stacked 3rd line, all those players are top 6ers.

Good trade for both teams. Surprised Kyrou ended up a Cap. Hopefully McMichael does well in St. Louis. Enjoyed watching him when he was in Washington. Will be interesting to see what a change of scenery does for Kyrou. I think he still has ceiling left.

What happened in st louis? Why did kyrou turn to crap and what went on with thomas this year that made the blues want to shop him around? Why has buchnevich turned to crap?

On paper st louis should have a great group of forwards.

Shouldn’t Washington be planning the rebuild instead of going all in on a 40 year old Ovy?
You, like a lot of other posters have no idea what the Caps are right now.

They were 2nd in the NHL in 2025, and then 7th or 8th in wins this past season (despite not making the playoffs).

Adding Kyrou, Cole Hutson, potentially Ilya Protas and another breakthrough for Leonard and the Caps are a much better team going into 2026/27 than they were the last 2 years

I'd rather have Mcmichael over Kyrou at this stage in their careers.

Only if you look at a single season. Kyrou was moved off the first line, and had nagging injury issues.

Before this past season, he was basically a guarantee to pot 30 goals. I like McMichael, but they are not really close in terms of production.
