Confirmed Trade: [WSH/STL] Jordan Kyrou for Connor McMichael, Milton Gastrin, 2026 1st round pick (16th overall)

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
For reference:

Kyrou:
Age 23 = 75 points
Age 24 = 73 points
Age 25 = 67 points
Age 26 = 70 points
Age 27 = 46 points (72gp)

McMichael
Age 22 = 33 points
Age 23 = 57 points
Age 24 = 46 points

Kyrou has a proven track record and nobody would be surprised if he’s right back to 70+ points again.

McMichael is indeed a center, but I’d be more surprised if he ever hits 70 points than if he were to never hit 50 points again tbh

Really nice return for STL. A 25 y/o productive middle-6 center, and maybe they could net someone like Command with that 16th pick, that would be a home run.

Its a premium but there's lots of upside in Kyrou for the Caps. If you get his best it'll supercharge that lineup.

Wingers are returning alot today. Wow.

Hasn't McMichael been most productive on the wing.

Man, some of y'all claiming WSH or STL definitively won this trade need to chillax a tad.

This was a legit hockey trade: WSH gets an established, speedy top-6 W, which they've needed for 2+ years now. STL gets a question mark W in McMike who could be anything from a 40 pt to 60 pt complimentary piece, plus a mid-first and a B prospect. Given STL status, this make a tone of sense.

WSH was top of the East last year with roughly the same roster (plus Cole Hutson and a full season of Ryan Leonard). They retooled on the fly and aren't rebuilding. They've needed a speedy winger who can score and create; despite Kyrou having a down year on a down team, that's what WSH just got.

I like this for both teams.

STL wins this today but obviously we will see what 16 brings

Centers are so hard to come by if he’s a 57ish point center I’d take that as a W. I’m going to miss Kyrou though.

Thomas. Dvorsky. McMichael. Suter. However Monty chooses to use him there’s at least options now. That’s legit C caliber depth and eons better than how the Blues started last yr at the position.
McMike is not a C.

He only produced at any good pace on the wing. Not saying he can't fill in a game or two because of injury, but that shouldn't be where you regularly place him if you want him to thrive.

Kyrou is undoubtedly the highest impact piece here, but, as a fan, I was braced for a much worse return. Going to be interested to see if McMichael fits at center with the Blues. If he does, it's exactly what they need to insulate Dvorsky a bit.
