Noone is interested in the oilers tainted wingers, look at the Hall trade for reference. A trade for Eberle could be career suicide, there are not many other teams in the league other then the oil that Eberle could get away with playing no defense, not taking or giving a hit and basically not giving any effort. The market for a neuteured Kessel isn't very large.
 
The first deal is a big no from the Wild and the Jets, the second deal is a big no from the Wild and the Jets. Don't even try it.
 
Would do first proposal from Edmonton standpoint, would not do the second one. Petan is not even close to being worth Edmonton's first. Probably somewhere in the middle of the two would be fair.

edit: thought it was Myers in both, Edmonton wins both trades.
 
I thought Brodin is a LHD?
If so, swap Myers for Trouba in 2nd deal and the Jets definitely do it. Perhaps they'd even do the first deal as is.
 
I feel like Wild fans have been very clear in saying we have no interest in Eberle.

We've also been very clear in saying that having 5 top-4 D means we're almost certainly going to lose one to Vegas. Why would we put ourselves in a position to go from 5 top-4 D to 3 in the span of one season?

An extremely simple pass from us.
 
I can't see the Jets swapping Myers for Brodin just to change handedness on D. I think they'd value Myers over Brodin.

I think Trouba is substantially more valuable than Brodin. The 1st is potentially a nice piece, but I don't think it's enough to compensate for the difference between Trouba and Brodin plus Petan.
 
Cant see Wilds give up Brodin for Eberle. If they gonna trade a D-man they want a first-line center caliber player, so swap Eberle to RNH and they will listen more. (Not sure they want Drai instead, do they?)

The Oilers don't need Myers and he's really only average at best defensively.
Just trade Myers to Minnesota for Brodin. Solves the LH/RH problems for both clubs

:laugh: Just so stacked for quality RD I guess. Close it up Edmonton doesn't need to be making any proposals for RD. They've got all they need. Hand them multiple cups right now:sarcasm:

I'd take Myers all day, just wouldn't pay the price tag.

Using Drai/Yak/Poolparty for your two top 6 RWs isnt good enough? Myers would do wonders as a fire extinguisher for that dumpster fire you've got going on in your backyard.

He certainly did wonders last season when the Oilers went 2-0-1 versus the Jets. That dumpster fire also held the Jets to 4 goals in those 3 games :laugh:

Draisaitl is a centre, Puljujarvi hasn't proved jack ****, and Yakupov is well....Yakupov. The Oilers have one proven top 6 RW. No deal

I don't see where Brodin is an upgrade compared to moving Trouba, Why would the Jets do the 2nd deal. Doubt that either deals are all that great.

Good God! I hope not. We don't want just any LHD. We want a good one. That lets Brodin out.

This . I don't get why fans post these threads . Eberle is going no where right now . We also are not moving any of our C as we are in the same boat with them . We have 1 proven C and I am sure injuries will come up .

Whats funny about these threads . Most times Oilers fans don't post them and if we did do a deal then all we would hear we are throwing Puljujarvi to the wolves , but if we don't accept then we get ripped for overvaluing Eberle . Sometimes it not about value it about opening another hole . As for fans saying the don't want Eberle he is good enough to play for team Canada but not their teams ? I find that funny

Well we know who's the stat watcher now. I'd venture to guess Brodin is one big reason why one of our team's allowed 33 fewer goals than the other :)

Wouldn't trade Brodin for Eberle or Myers. Yuck. Brodin has the versatility to play both sides so handedness is not an issue.
 
ew those brodin numbers are bad. but on the bright side it made me look up Dumba's and they're pretty close to Trouba,so he might be a first pairing D next year! actually better production and suppression.
