Chariot got a 1st 4th and B prospect. Granted that didn’t age great , but not impossible. I’m with the trade Holl only if he’s included in a deal for a clear top 4 upgrade. And top 4 RD are scarce and expensive so I expect he’s here at least until summer.

Anything less than a 1st (which is an overpayment) isn't worth it for the Leafs.

More important to have depth on defense as seen by our injury pile-up than a 2nd (which would also likely be from a playoff team given he's a UFA)

I agree with you 100% in that if Leafs make a TD deal and require the cap space they will include Holl in the deal but then it might be a lot more likely that its Leafs 1st going out.

Kerfoot + Holl + Leafs 1st type package going OUT for a TD rental player (Scoring winger or top 4 Dman).

To be clear this is a poll to get feedback on how you would handle a very enviable “problem “, and not a platform for some to push their Holl narrative (either Pro or Con).

Probably keep him. He's not my favorite guy ever, but TOR needs to hang on to their defensive depth and not punt it away.

Yeah Holl is not perfect, but TOR definitely needs someone like him on the PK.

Holl is the kind of Dman that teams looking for the depth to go deep in the playoffs look to trade for! To teams that are not playoff bound, but are on the way up and are looking for a second pairing guy they can sign long term then Justin Holl is that guy and could be worth a 1st plus a 3rd if he resigns with them. A team that's on the way up will want to make sure he can be resigned before any deal could be made.

As everybody should realize Holl can put in 21 mins night in and night out(incl PK) on a very good team that itself should go very deep, so why would you trade him to a team you may be seeing in the playoffs??

As a piece in an expanded deal in order to get the #2LW that should ice the cake for the Leafs then he's worth a lot.

Just moving Justin Holl because you think you've got great depth might not be the best moves mainly because neither Benn nor Mete are at his level of play and while Timmins has been a pleasant surprise there is a reason that the Coyotes just casually let him go. One wrong hit and the guy could be out, done, finished. The concussion he had that knocked his career off the tracks was severe, I know I know every player takes that chance every shift but he has an already built in aggravating factor and if Holl was gone that draft pick does you no good.

Here is da answer .. in pro hockey you need defensive depth in playoffs .. likely he stays .. but if he goes as part of a deal then Leafs need to get back a D .. he is fine as a 6th/7th guy if he plays a very simple game

Agreed, but journeyman is a good evaluation of what he'll likely be:

After this season he'll go year to year with league min. contracts as an NHL #6 defenseman.

There's no reason to accept a 1st in return for a player that's been regularly holding down a spot on a team that's trying to be competitive.

There was a time when we Leafs fans were desperate for Marincin to return from an injury in the playoffs against Washington. Don't mess with depth on defense going into the playoffs.

An overpay for a 1st rounder, sure. That you can flip for something more useful. And it would be fine if he's liquidated for cap space or as a piece in a deal for a big fish, like Chychrun. But just trading him for a 2nd rounder or less makes no sense. None.

Considering all the abuse Holl takes around here on a regular basis, I'm amazed people think he might be worth a 1st to someone - I thought the discussion would be more like how many pucks would be in the bag we get back for him.

Good to see him get some respect for a change, he's been a good player for us. But a 1st round pick? I really don't think so.

I read this as what I would accept for a trade for Holl and not what he’s worth. I’d trade him easily for a 1st but I don’t see anytime offering a 1st to the Leafs.

There really is no point of trading him. Maybe at the deadline apart of some package to upgrade the team, but it’s a good thing to have so many defencemen. We’ve had injuries and it’s just. I’ve to have a stop gap between our regulars and ahl guys

The best time to deal him would’ve been the off-season and use his cap savings to upgrade the forward core, but at this point that’s too late, so I’m content keeping him until the deadline. We will see then
