We must all assume, that every czech drafted will bust from now on, so we can be top hockey nation again in the future.

If I were a Pens fan I'd be worried that he's their number 2 behind Jarry, especially with how injury prone Jarry has been the last couple of years. It seems like he's always out for a couple of weeks or a month here and there. Nedeljkovic is terrible and I'm pretty sure he isn't NHL caliber. He may be one of those JAG goalies that flourishes on good teams (Carolina) and is really bad on bad teams (Detroit), but I think it's more likely he's not NHL caliber. He may have some decent years in the NHL, but I wouldn't trust him for shit to keep things afloat for an injured Jarry.
Ned seems like the type of guy who can give some decent spot-starts as a backup, but definitely can't be relied on the carry the team for any stretches. It's tough for him in Pittsburgh right now because of how dog-shit the defense has been. Fortunately, it seems as though Joel Blomqvist is surpassing Ned on the depth chart, so that should help.

I've predicted that the Maple Leafs would win the Cup multiple times in recent years. Call it the gambler's fallacy. But the luck has to change eventually, right?

I thought the Penguins were doomed once Fleury became the starter in the 2017 playoffs.

There is no chance in heck they beat the Caps without him playing out of his mind that series, he definitely earned his ring that year and I was dead wrong about him and could not be happier to have been wrong.

"I think Nurse will prove he is worth that contract".
Thats is a good one. Still the best one is this:

Darnell Nurse at 9.25m is average money for a #1 defenseman. Three years from now Oilers fans will have nothing to worry about...

that was 3 years ago and now Oilers fans are really worried about his cap and lack of caps space to fix that D.

When the Canucks selected Tom Willander in the 1st round in 2023 I thought they were sneakily getting a player on par with Nick Lidstrom. A year and a half later its clear hes far more talented

I expected Daniel Jones to become a good QB for the Giants.

I'm all for team optimism, but IMO anyone who's watched football for at least a decent chunk of time knew Danny Dimes (Pennies) was never going to be the guy. (Except for Giants ownership & management)

I remember in 2012 people on here were saying Ovy was no longer an elite goal sorcerer, he was washed, Caps would be better off trading him etc.

My thinking at the time was that he had the brains and was tutored by the guy who the Mannings consider a guru and he had al thr tools.
