I got a good one that I was just talking about today.

That the Canes were stupid for getting rid of Alex Nedeljkovic and that he was gonna be a really good goalie and what a great move by Detroit in picking him up lol.

He's terrible. Too short and if he's lucky he'll have a career on par with Alex Stalock, where he's in and out of the league. Stalock is another short goalie.

If I were a Pens fan I'd be worried that he's their number 2 behind Jarry, especially with how injury prone Jarry has been the last couple of years. It seems like he's always out for a couple of weeks or a month here and there. Nedeljkovic is terrible and I'm pretty sure he isn't NHL caliber. He may be one of those JAG goalies that flourishes on good teams (Carolina) and is really bad on bad teams (Detroit), but I think it's more likely he's not NHL caliber. He may have some decent years in the NHL, but I wouldn't trust him for shit to keep things afloat for an injured Jarry.

That the Hawks were heading in the right direction by trading Panarin and Hjalmarsson. Thinking Saad would get the Toews line going again and they'd be a dominant shut down possession force like they were in 2015. That Murphy would be a solid shut down D and be a younger version of Hammer. Saad ended up having 115 points in 220 games (43 point pace) and Murphy never quite elevated his game and has since been a poor man's #4 Dman the last 7+ seasons.

I believed in Bowman in general, that he knew was he was doing from 2015 onwards. He ended up signing us up for a half decade of bullshit mediocrity and futility with terrible trades, signings, draft picks, and no direction whatsoever. He completely lost the plot on what it meant to be successful in a new NHL.

Somewhere
- Disliked the William Nylander pick, thought he would turn out to be a good but not great player and would have a journeyman career similar to his father. Was also miffed we passed on Nick Ritchie, who I thought was set to become the next great power forward

- Hated the Mitch Marner pick, was furious the Leafs passed on Noah Hanifin. Thought Marner was going to become the next Sam Gagner... Whoops.

- Called Dougie Hamilton a slightly better version of Cody Franson at one point.

- Thought Byfield was going to be a bust.

- Thought Michkov was over hyped and was going to greatly disappoint in NA. (It's early, but this take looks like it will age like milk)

My worst take ever is probably saying Hoffman would score 40+ goals when he joined the habs and when I was younger I said that Sid was the most overrated player in NHL history and not even top 100 of all time.

Yikes.

James Sheppard is the next Joe Thornton

Gilbert Brule is Mike Peca with the ability to put up 100 points

I could honestly go on. There's a reason why were not professional scouts LOL

I thought CJ Stroud would be a career backup and that Caleb Williams would be Mahomes 2.0.

He was on the Connor McMichael bandwagon early though. Credit where credit’s due.
Still plenty of time for both of these things to happen. Williams has shown great flashes, problem is he's stuck on the incompetent Bears.

It sucks that all of these quarterbacks are forced to start as rookies, especially in these lousy franchises.

You and me both bud. I thought Shep was going to be great top6 high character center. With him being coached by Jacques Lemaire he was going to be that complete Joel Eriksson Ek type player. (Not him specifically of course, just more his role and skill). So wrong about that kid on so many, all?, levels.

I was wrong about Ek too. Thought he was going to be an elite shutdown #3C at best. Clearly I am a better player than scout. And I was never really that great of a player.

I wanted Bennett over Draisaitl at the draft, even though I did think Draisaitl had game too. Thank goodness that didn't happen.

Also was kinda iffy on the dollars for Zack Hyman at the time of signing, but obviously that's been a slam dunk signing as he's vastly over performed for value.
