I’ve got plenty. But recently, I thought the hawks were cup contenders after trading for Seth Jones. Two years later, and at least we have Bedard lol.

Remember that silly trade rumor around 2012, Patrick Kane for Ryan Miller.

Yeah I thought that was a good idea at the time.

I thought that Milan Bartovic was going to be a star in the NHL for a long time.

More recently, I had Gurianov just behind McDavid and Eichel in 2015. Ahead of Marner, Rantanen, Conner, Provorov et all.

My worst one definitely was Kakko. Didn't meet my expectations at all. Honestly, I didn't expect at all that he was going to play as timid as he had. I thought he would have the kind of a gritty attitude I thought he displayed in Liiga, but guess not. That definitely was a bad take, at least so far.

My other takes have at least been looking pretty good. I had Stützle first overall for 2020, and was meh on both Lafreniere and Byfield - those look to be coming along pretty well. The other significant ones were that I was low on Podkolzin and Slafkovsky, and both are looking like good takes thus far. Then when we add being higher than the consensus on Seider and Kaliyev, my takes have actually been going really well lately - and Hutson's looking pretty good, another one I really liked before the draft. So I guess those are making up for that miss somewhat.
Weren't you the one with the some very loud bad takes on Elias Pettersson?

Told my friends Sidney Crosby was an underachiever. In my mind, I meant that when he was drafted, I expected him to become a Gretzky-Lemieux like talent.

Got crushed by my friends saying you can’t underachieve if you’re a top 10 ish all time player with great two way game and 3 Cups 😂

To this day it’s still an all time bad take innour group chat and I still get mocked for it

I'll cut myself some slack, I was a dumb teenager at the time but...

I thought Eichel would be just as good if not better than McDavid...

I get it. Like he's done too much to be considered an underachiever but at the same time, there's a timeline where he's an undisputed top 5 player already. No small part down to injuries though.

I thought Risto could be salvaged. Big physical dman who can play 25 minutes a night 80 nights a year, what’s not to love?
Answer: He can’t skate and move the puck at the same time, can’t skate and tie up an opponent at the same time. It’s like his brain and body need to quickly alternate doing things, they don’t act simultaneously. Evidence:

Anywho, so my bad thinking it was all on Buffalo, and that Risto would do better elsewhere. Didn’t love Philly as a landing spot, but damn dude fits a mess wonderfully.

That RNH would always end up being the better player than Draisaitl and that Drai should have been traded for defensive help shortly after being drafted.

It's not his fault the Pens hired a ghost player!

Man, I still love that gif so much. When it happened, it was just the great thing ever.

I do also think Ristolainen could be salvaged on a good team that use him carefully, but no good team is taking on that contract for another couple of years or so.

I thought Boucher , Blandisi, Brunner , Gelinas , Merrill , Urbom , Santini , Josephson, were all going to be legit , full time NHL players that would be a part of the Devils future for a long time …..
Merrill has had a decent career but the rest of them …

I have 2 that stick out to me

Despite the fact that he had regressed marc staal was the best rangers defenseman (defensively) on the rangers team in the early part of 19/20 season. Trouba, deangelo, pionk, depth defense men had all been on the team recently and then you had unproven fox and lindgren were also on the team.

Oops.

I also picked id take dipetro over crosby in a poll. I did NOT think dipetro was a better player but he was really good and id build a team with a strong goalie. Dipetro ended up getting hurt which ended his career while crosby is crosby.

I thought the leafs should take Grigorenko or Galchenyuk over Rielly.

Remember telling a friend that Reimer/Bernier would be the best tandem in the NHL around 2013. Yeah, that was pretty awful

Also thought Fabian Brunnstrom was worth taking in fantasy when he landed in Detroit. He played like 5 games and had 1 assist. Oof.

I'd say I'm guilty of that too. I thought maybe with a change of scenery, Risto could turn it around

Defending Martin Jones' terrible play by saying the equipment size restrictions tanked his game. Might be a little true, but he just sucked
