It's been 7 years but the worst Outlook is still Microsoft's.

CBJ seems to be a generational bottom team. No one seems to criticize them for some reason. Some fans on this site gloat about a play-in series win vs. Toronto (ok you beat us and we shouldn't have even qualified for the playoffs).

They only have 6 playoff appearances in the history of their franchise.

Sabres have been struggling for a long time too. They could easily be in with the Habs and Wings. It shows that rebuilding isn’t a guarantee to be a success. It sometimes takes more than one attempt to turn into even just a playoff team. Got to definitely get lucky in the draft (even when picking high that there are elite guys in that draft) and make smart trades.

Both teams have top prospect pools.

The easy answer is the Pens. Locked into a bunch of old players.

Their top two assets to trade likely want to retire a Pen.

Horrible prospect pool.

It’s going to be a long time for them (assuming they aren’t gifted another generational player)

Most Columbus fans don't even mention the play-in round. It's kinda funny but it's usually other fans dunking on Toronto. The only team and series we've been strongly excited about was Tampa.

Fans often criticize Columbus before this year but the tragedy in the offseason has slowed down most people. I also think their drafting looks better so people probably give them a pass with the talent on the way considering this is a future outlook thread

To be fair the Habs did go to SCF four years from that post (fluky as it may have been but they got pretty close to the ultimate goal nevertheless).
