Worst / most ineffective enforcers in NHL history

Criteria:

• No real skill as a hockey player
• Not a good fighter (lost a lot / rarely dominated)
• Not intimidating with their physical play or hits
• Mostly just volume PIM and fights without delivering much

The list:

• Warren Rychel
• Mike Peluso
• Wayne Van Dorp
• Shawn Antoski
• Jay Caufield
• Ed Hospodar
• Torrie Robertson
• Don Jackson
• Joe Paterson
• Gary Nylund

These guys filled the enforcer role mainly through fight volume and penalty minutes, but never really scared anyone or won consistently against the better tough guys.

From my own team at present I’ll nominate Liam O’Brien.

Now if you need a guy who will go get punched in the face a few times in an attempt to prove a point, he’s your guy. He won’t back down from a fight even though he usually loses them.

I have an unjustifiable like of Liam O Brien as a hockey player, apropos of something. I respect a guy who knows he’s about to get a whooping and does it anyway.
