Well, it's July 26 so the "use money to improve" ship has sailed.

Anyway, during the off-season no one knew that Anthony was going miss most of the season, or Story would return to being useless, Duran & Narvaez would be hitting under .200 or that Mayer would actually regress.

And they did acquire Contreras and Durbin in the off-season.
I know the date, that has nothing to do with what I said. It was an explanation as to why they had to make a move like this.

I am pretty sure a lot of people weren't just assuming Story would replicate last year. Marcelo Mayer has shown next to nothing at this level. Narvaez not much of a track record. Maybe you're the one who thought this would be a good lineup.

Contreras and Durbin were trades, not FA signings. Durbin makes peanuts. They desperately needed another bat even if Roman Anthony was mentally stable and producing. They've been in catch up mode since the offseason after getting bats shoved up their ass by the Yankees.

Don’t get to watch the Sox much so living through this thread mainly. Angels blow but have a great broadcast crew so I watch them over Dodgers. Zach Neto is a great player on a horrible team. He’s super competitive. Be a phenomenal pickup for the Sox even though he’s having a down season.
Many posters here give new updates on the Red Sox and MLB happenings and we almost always have the thread up to date.

Seems everything the Red Sox do, you find something negative about it.

That 15-game winning streak must have been difficult.

Right.

Which is why I said promoted him to  AA

as hes done enough in Single-A

To further that

He may be a big scary monster who couldn’t possibly grow more but it’s also important to remember he is 19. He’s been great for a teen in High A

The real test is AA though. Jack Winnay has made that leap look pretty easy so far but he’s also 3.5 years older than Gonzales. He looks like a guy to keep an eye on too- kid went to Belmont Hill

Thats why I wanna see him vs AA guys.

We have some very intriguing kids. I try my best to keep up with it all.

I still remember thinking Lars Anderson was the real deal. 😅
