Yes it would have continued because they wouldn't have played the 2nd gameDoes anyone else feel like had they not played two yesterday that the streak might have continued? I have no idea why they were so eager to play a doubleheader when both teams had today off anyways. It’s (for whatever reason) hard to win both games.
Anyways, another streak starts tomorrow!
Your corner outfielder not hitting is a much bigger issue than your great defensive catcher not hittingThe streak was awesome!
You can really see two players struggling with every AB, Narvaez and Duran.
We really need to get another catcher and power hitting OF if we are going to be a serious playoff contender.
Both are batting below the Mendoza line.
I don't care how great CN is defensively.Your corner outfielder not hitting is a much bigger issue than your great defensive catcher not hitting
If Duran can have a big 2nd half that would go a looooooooong way. He does seem to be hitting the ball harder lately
Duran has been hitting the ball hard and getting unlucky, but hes been getting good contact and he is 3rd in the AL this month with 13 RBI's. Tied with Willson Contreras. So thats good. The streak was awesome!

Well I do care because catcher is the most important position defensively imo. Plus you really want to mess with the pitching staff who are clearly very comfortable throwing to him? It’s by far the least important position offensively, the 2018 Sox were the best team in franchise history with even worse production out of the spot (it’s because Vazquez and Leon were great defensively and that pitchers had chemistry with them and that stuff matters way more!). You don’t need an elite bat at the position to winI don't care how great CN is defensively.
His lack of hitting means you have to pinch hit for him at a critical time in the game, then you loose his defense.
Time to upgrade, we have the assets.
Rays / Dodgers / Braves / Brewers catchers are much better vs our catchers.
I do agree with you about Duran, he needs to go.
I would have thought the Sox hitting coaches would have taught him to bunt more effectively. With his speed he could get on base more, or at worst, pull the 3B in to play on the grass.
Yoshida did that yesterday in the first game tooNarvaez had the worst challenge of the year last night. Pitch isn't even close. In the first farking inning! Basically, Sox hitters can't challenge anything close right from their first batter. Beyond stupid.
Someone thought it was a good idea to fight Justin Gonzales![]()
FWIW, the Red Sox view Worcester as basically an extension of their Major League roster, so by promoting Arias, they're pretty much saying that they'd feel comfortable calling him up to the Majors, if necessary.

The short answer is yesAt this point in the season, 19 HR seems like a lot for AA.
Should I be as impressed as I am?
Playoffs?The short answer is yes
He’s pretty far out ahead of where Mayer was when he was 20. Less he needs to work on. Arias has premium contact skills, a good eye, and good SS defense. Wouldn’t completely shock me if he’s the SS in the playoffs
