Pp was good but Canada had 2 glorious chances.. a 2 on 0 and our goalie almost pulled a MAF

The Patrick Kane comparison isn’t even a bad one. His creativity is insane, has great vision in the zone, knows where all his teammates are and is a fantastic skater.

He is small but man - look out for this kid in 2025.

We are competitive today at least.. I wonder if small rink is a problem and we are slowly adjusting? More likely we aren't as good.

Canada is very sloppy too - you can tell these kids haven’t played together before. Zero chemistry whatsoever.

Czechia has had their opportunities, they’ve played well. Just couldn’t finish on the chances they have had.

Canadian coaches can't be thrilled. Czechs need to bury a few.. maybe get rolling. But 2 games and we've scored once and allowed 10. Ouch

Dang it first 14 mins of Canada black vs Finland missing.... anyone remember how Miettinen goal was in 1st?

Watching the Canada-Finland game, this has to be the worst 5-1 performance I’ve seen, with average finishing it would have been closer to 10-1 for Canada. Canada’s forecheck absolutely destroyed our defenders, pulling some numbers out of a hat I’d say over half of our breakout attempts resulted in a giveaway. Helenius and Hemming were pretty good though.

Random Sweden related thoughts

- Alfons Freij is by far the best and most talented defenseman on the team. He'll challenge for SHL ice-time next season. Really like his mobility, puck carrying skills and overall read of the game.
- Melvin Fernström plays quite aggressive. A bit of a pest to go with his scoring skills
- Willy Magnertoft and Måns Toresson... quite the duo shorthanded. Really good penalty killers
- Karl Sterner, the big forward with the big release, appears to have improved his skating quite a bit
- Smallish winger Viktor Olofsson is very noticeable in the offensive play. Plays with great intensity and often involved in scoring chances.
- Linus Eriksson has excellent hockey sense and is very good two-way center. Does most things well

Overall, I do not see many potential first rounders on this Swedish team was (...yet). Alexander Zetterberg, who did not play in the most recent game vs. Canada Black, has maybe the most skill, but is small and I am not sure how well his game will translate later. Some skilled defensemen with Freij and Anton Olsson being the most obvious ones. Emil Stadin is not too shabby either.

It would not surprise if the top players on this Swedish national team, when it's time for the U18 worlds in 1,5 years... will all be underage 2007-borns.

Bring on the Finn's after the Oil game. I say they beat us too!lol Hoping the 2 asskickings and a day off will help us settle in to small ice and always having a very strong opponent. Hope dies last.

Wutzke playing great for Canada Red. Only reason his team isn't down 4+ already.

Canada understandably double shifting Misa and Catton.

Humphreys is pretty good. Love his hockey IQ

It's obvious we aren't as good as the rest.

I will say though

I LOVE watching Svozil on the PP.. he's so calm, uses his feet and smooth! It's beautiful

I also REALLY ENJOY Benak... he's the oppsotie of Svozil.. he's not calm at all.... he's sonic the goddam hedgehog and doesn't stop!

Canada red not doing themselves any favours with those penalties, the U.S is a better team so can't do that.

eiserman was the best player on the ice IMO, Hutson is twisting guys on the line, liked his play a lot. Hagen was o.k I guess but I thought Misa had better moments then him on a couple of rushes, I would like to see Misa playing on the U.S team and Hagen on Canada red and see what happens.
