It was boring game, brothers stall the show in the morning. CANADA no longer is the best hockey.

USA is really coming on ,,, Sweden and Finland are always tough games... don't read too much into a summer tourny where both teams did not have a full squad ... but defending WJC champs so there is that.

I thought Lavoie was probably Canadas best forward, he was dangerous all game.

Rasmussen might've been the second best, he had 2 points and a lot of take aways with a long stick (but I'm biased)

Comtois played good but I mentioned earlier that he mighta been running around a little too much. He'll be taking penalties if he played like today all tournament (he was probably just horny cause he hasnt played in a while though)

I heard Studnickas name a lot, he didnt really do anything crazy noticeable but he was around the puck enough for me to hear his name getting called. Not a bad thing

Dobson was good. He scored twice ( added bonus) but he was good defensively. His second goal wasnt anything special just had to put it in the wide open net. He was clearly Canadas only good dman.

None of the D were good except Dobson. Bahl isnt good enough right now for this level, Addison made a good pass on the PP for Dobsons goal but that was the only positive play I saw really.

No one else really stood out, Foudy was ok I guess but that was all that stuck out to me. Glass was dangerous early but slowed as the game went on

as per usual epic reactions over players.

that said hoping for a dominating from the white and reds in January

Bad crowds, kamloops folks want to want to be at the beach it seems, next time have it in Penticton.
Agreed. I get that it's the dead of summer, but you'd think what is essentially a WJC preview game involving Canada and another top hockey nation would attract more than the few hundred who appeared to be in attendance.

I don't recall what the crowds were like in Plymouth(?) last year.

Saw the game last night (even though missed first two goals tending to my steak). The games was so chaotic, I would not dare comment on "bad" performances, with so much rust and miscommunication and lack of chemistry going on. Same can probably be said of "good" performances, since a modicum of chemistry could make some players stand out against this background. With that caveat I'd say Canada's best were Dobson, Foudy and Lavoie. For Finns, I though Laaksonen was really good. Engberg was a surprise. Nothing spectacular, just very poised strong game.

Usa - Finland lineups

Kaapo Kakko and Olli Maansaari out injured for Finns replaced by Jesse Koskenkorva and Ville Petman

yeah, not sure what the numbers were for Plymouth, couldn't have been worse then this I think.

Has this tournament ever had "good" attendance? EDIT: Just looked at some vids on youtube of last y ears tourney, looks about the same.

I'll make some broad assumptions about hockey fans in Kamloops (I live here) but lets think of it this way:

During the season 100% of people who are interested (not just fans, but also casuals) in hockey have the possiblity of going to a game.(so our possible ticket base is at 100%), say 60-70% of those people can ACTUALLY go on a given night or day due to other things going on in their life or money, or what have you. Then, maybe 50% of those people actually WANT to go on any given night or day. Then 50% of those people actually go. so like 10-15% of hockey fans will make it to the games (maybe less, who knows).

Now, during the middle of the summer, let say the number of people who are interested in hockey drops by 25-30%. The rest of the numbers do to. It's not that easy to get people inside for a hockey game in July and beginning of August. The Canada v USA showdown will be better, but not great.

Finland looks kinda decent compared to what I expected. Latvala looks much better than last season.

Laaksonen continues his strong play too.

Yeah, your reasoning is probably correct here.
