From the Leafs perspective, Tyler Biggs is doing what he was advertised as, 3rd line winger on the US team, layed the body on, had a great chance to score, is skating well out there. Nothing wrong with his game or this prospect. Good start for Biggs.

Germany getting more chances in this game than against Canada.

Maybe in the last few minutes in the period. The first German shot on net came at the 14 minute mark. The coach seems to be rotating his lines fairly well, giving everyone a chance to play, instead of trying to run up the score.

Biggs has looked right in place getting chances and throwing germans around

wouldnt be too worried about him not burying those chances

Oh so you don't have to play your first line while up by a bunch of goals and tire them out? Someone should tell Spott.

Yep, they built a team, every piece fits. Canada is more of a collection of players, sort of like the Leafs.

USA looks good, everyone seemed to be enamoured with the Finns earlier this week, they aren't better than the US team.

Americans look better playing the Germans than the Finns did playing Canada and USofA?

Head to head the Finns looked better than the Americans.

Playing the Germans isn't something you use to see how good a team is.

Great shape by the U.S. on the 5 on 3. Good composure from Jones, sliding his goalie's stick back to him, without sacrificing his defensive position.

Biggs leg drive shows no problem with speed.

Looking like a worthy pick.

Seems that way.

He's toned down his aggression level from the first the first 10 mins of the game, and good for him for not wanting to be the guy to kick the opponent while they're down. He's still going to the net to provide screens, and is battling along the boards for loose pucks. What caught me off guard a bit was a couple of give and go sequences he's been a part of. I wasn't expecting him to be the type of player to use his linemates at all.

If he can turn into a 3rd liner version of Mike Brown, I'd be extatic.

The US team looks much better than Canada's, despite the obvious gap in talent. Just goes to show how bad Canada's coaching is.

Also I don't know how the Leafs passed on Rattie. They knew he was good and interviewed him multiple times. Percy and Biggs better turn out damn good because Rattie is a player.

Percy was a bit of a stretch, but I had him ranked 36 and Saad 31 with Sproul 45.

I think I'd have gone with Biggs my ranking 27 and a skilled guy at 30, Jurco, Jaskin, ...

Mind you if Wings took him before the 25th. pick, things would have been different. Burke got the guy he wanted so sometimes you draft for need.

I know compettion is different but I do like how the way the US Squad is built. They have more gears to their game than they are showing. Russians will be better too as will Canada. Do the Finns have more? Perhaps but I would put my money on any of the former. I am not swayed by the Finns and a few pre tourney games. We will see.

Canada, USofA, Russia are huge favorites I don't think anyone questions that.

Sweden is a young team and have lost what 3 or 4 of their top defenders?

Seth Jones > Mackinnon

Man this kid is going to be a beast in a few years.
