North America can inflate one's stats that way. We give out secondary assists. A lot of other keagues don't see it our way.

And what is wrong with Reilly?? He looks completely disinterested out there. He needs to start DOING something if he wants more ice time.

I think he knows his role. He doesn't have to deke the entire opposition to create a scoring chance for his team, or rush the puck every single time.

He's still making great passing decisions and simplifying his game. If you ask me, that's a great transition from Junior to "pro" like caliber playing style. He's a smart player that way.

I'd rather he played a simple game and take his chances only when the opportunity is there, which is what he's been doing since the first exhibition game.

Correct, but there lies the problem with spott's tactics. He had perfect chance to get some secondary scoring as that's a huge need for canada. Yet the whole game until last 10 min of 3rd, he only played top 4 d and top 6 lines.

A game where major confidence boost would of been helpful to a bunch of Canadians.

In terms of Rielly, hey i don't mind if he gets demoted if he doesn't play up to par like the pre-tourney games. I guess him being a ohl coach, he really doesn't see what Rielly brings to the table. It was pure head scratcher when at the start of the game Rielly was great and had that jump, gets benched 5 on 5, benched all of 2nd period except pp time, and trows him out there last 10 min of 3rd where he wasn't effective and you can tell and sitting for 2 periods does that.

Not to mention Hamilton and Harrington seemed tired by the end of 2nd period by all the minutes.

Oh well.

Rielly needs the puck to be effective, he is also not joining the rush as much as we saw in the Subway series. Seems to be a confidence thing, he doesn't want to make a mistake out there. Hamilton is charging up ice, even Harrington, no reason for Morgan to not to. I think there is time for Morgan to get it together, he has to lose some of his tentativeness and make things happen, he's a dynamic player, he has to take chances and push the pace.

USA vs Germany on right now.

Looking fwd to watching Gibson, Jones, and Rocco Grimaldi.

And obcourse Tyler Biggs.

Want to see how Galchenyuk looks with Team USA. Shall be interesting.

The potential of Seth Jones is quite noticeable, great skater, poise, sets up Galchenyuk for a great opportunity but shot misses net. I would not be surprised to see him going #1 next summer.

Let's see how the US coach handles his roster with an immenent blowout. Will Gally end up getting 30+ mins of icetime?

Americans looking better than Canada early on, as suspected I thought they were a team that had a better chance at gold than we have. I may have to adopt this as my team this tournament. Love the way they play.

They're certainly looking more structured.

Interesting Gally gets a secondary assist Rielly was not credited for the other day. :sarcasm:

Wtf, I didn't even notice. Wasn't he the one who completely setup the first goal?

TSN has him with the assist, however, the IIHF does not. So, I guess pick which one you want? :help:

The assist is ultimately irrelevant, since even with it, it doesn't change the fact that he is not being used to his full capacity.

I still can't believe people would pass him up because he's not a center, and the Leafs need a center. No other reason, since they cannot find flaws in his game.

He has franchise player written all over him.

The difference is that they are letting all their players have a chance to excel, not a select few.

Canada can have the best players in junior hockey all they want, but you are only allowed to put 5 players on the ice. And putting the same select players on the ice shows that having all the talent you want is irrelevant, when they are on the bench.

Yep, they built a team, every piece fits. Canada is more of a collection of players, sort of like the Leafs.

USA looks good, everyone seemed to be enamoured with the Finns earlier this week, they aren't better than the US team.

When Jones reaches his prime, he will be the best player in this draft. I am pretty certain of this the more I see him play.
