Drouin is dominating today, in an important game as a draft year prospect. I stand by my statement. He is better than Kane at the same time of their careers, and has the potential to be better than Kane is in the NHL.

Woah, slow down there. We're aware of how good Kane was in Jr. right? I won't comment on potential but he was one of the best ever for London.

I'm drinking Finnish for gold predictions.

If you had the choice today between Kane at 24 or Drouin who would you choice.

100% agree, I so wish we get a top 5 pick or even top 10 pick this year
If we got any of Drouin, Mackinnon, Barkov, Monahan, Lindholm it would so so incredible!

I don't think he was talking about today, a 17 year old is not going to be better than a 24 year old. But in terms of players at the same stage of their careers, Drouin is miles ahead. He is already playing better than Yakupov and Gally this tournament.

I know someone will blindy point to Gally's 6 or 7 points, but those were against Germany, and he played 3rd line mins against Slovakia piling on meaningless points. They are the most quiet 6 or 7 points this tournament, not as dominating as Drouin's tournament.

The USA fans on the worlds thread have been very disappointed with his play thus far. Not playing like their best fwd thus far.

What turnovers ?

Re-watch the game and you'll see them. I'm not saying he has been horrible. His play as been getting better as the game goes on. Interactif said there is nothing wrong with his game so far today, which is incorrect. He's made some mistakes, which happens. I'm not overly concerned.

He has not made a turnover, and I'm watching the game.....you are making things up. A turnover is when you turn the puck over to the over team, and that has not happened.

I take Drouin, I look at the present and 3 years down the road at the finished product. Drouin could probably step into the NHL next year and put up a Stamkos type first year. The kid has instincts and skills to go a long with desire. Great combo, and the one thing that goes unnoticed about this game, he does little defensive things that is just a bonus to the whole package.

To me it's Jones, Mackinnon, and now Drouin. Top 3 and separation.

Um...the very first time he touched the puck? lol

Fanned on the pass, Russians had a chance.

He's also had a lot of trouble in board battles which I expect will be a major problem going forward at the pro level.

Like John Michael Liles.

You are correct...he did fan on that pass....board battles....he has not had a problem with that. He has been very good in this tourney in his own end. Liles can not hold his jock strap....he is so much better then him.

I guess they're hard to see when you're wearing homer glasses

I would take Drouin as well. Now if I had the top pick in this years draft....Mackinnon without blinking1

Rielly made 2 turnovers.

But he made up for it IMO. Got the puck back on the 2nd one, and made some nice plays today

Okay well you haven't been watching the game then...

He's fine in OPEN ICE but not along the boards.

Maybe you need to rewatch the 2nd period.

You just said he didn't make one turnover when in fact the first time he touched the puck resulted in a turnover. Makes you seem a little less than trustworthy.

That is interesting. Do you realize that Kane is a sure fire thing whereas Drouin is not. Kane has had an 88 point NHL season with 4 70 point seasons. You pray that Drouin becomes as good as Kane.

This, plus Kane is a ******.

There were a couple of times on the PP when he crossed the blue line and tried to do it all himself, ultimately coughing up the puck.

How many games have you watched him play? That's a ridiculously bold statement for someone who I doubt has ever seen him play live

Kane wasn't even the surefire #1 pick in a year of no dominant #1. You need to revisit that draft, there was no Mackinnon or Jones that year. The fact he has put himself into the conversation with these 2 should tell you all you need to know.

Bit OT, but nobody denied that Joel Edmundson was MJ's shutdown man. You hinted at Rielly being the worst defender on MJ, which was absolutely ridiculous.
