Also, very impressed by Buchanan for Canada. Surprised he's a winger because I think he plays with a ton of bite in his game that you'd like to see with a midfielder. Not sure he has the finishing or crossing skills considering his stats, but I would totally buy him to be a CM or RCM.
He needs to polish up his delivery (davies goal notwithstanding) and touch around the net. But ya, i really like his game and passion.

I'd say the constant difference between AFC and Concacaf is Mexico is typically head and shoulders above all asian teams but Mexico is pretty bad at the moment.

Technically correct, but since Australia left, Oceania isn't represented at the world cup. So do they really count in the context of a discussion about how various confederations will do at future world cups? IMO it's fair to say that in this context, it is between CONCACAF & AFC for weakest confederation.
Yes, because OFC will have a guaranteed spot at future World Cups.

Croatian fans mocking Milan Borjan for being a child refugee (grew up a Serb in Croatia and had to flee as a child from retaliations during Croatian independence). His cell number was leaked and 2500 messages were left by Croatian fans.

and Croatian fans want to criticize Canadian fans for being classless?

You mean to tell me that Balkan ethnicities clash? Say it ain't so.

North American countries are just incapable of producing good defenders
Edson Alvarez isn't bad. Neither was Wes Morgan, although I recognize that counting him is a little unfair. Mark McKenzie, EPB, CCV, Auston Trusty all start for their European teams. It's coming, just slowly.

Probably because anyone half decent is put up front as a kid.
This, and because defenders haven't seen top attackers.

Who would you rate above David?
Pulisic, Aaronson, Adams, Reyna, Balogun, McKennie, Musah.

Argument to be had about Weah and Scally.

I like David. But he's a Nketiah level striker IMO. And before I have to hear about his stats in France, I'd remind some commentators that Balogun is the Arsenal 4th string striker and is all of one goal behind David.

Scoring at a similar clip as David, on a worse team. To use the vaunted percentage of team goals scored metric, I think it's easy to say Balogun has outperformed David whilst being younger
What I meant was he hasn't committed to the US. I do see how it fits with the original comment since he only said US players and not USNT players.

But if that's the case he could name Timori.

Timori has committed to a non-Canadian national team. Balogun hasn't committed anywhere. Otherwise saying David is better than an American player is ironic given that David would be an American player

This is funny. Davies has an argument, definitely. I don't see David as being better than a solid handful of Americans.
David would easily be USA best striker though. Which is all that really matters. USA doesn’t have anyone remotely close to David in their pool at #9

Just to add on, yes comments like those do tend to motivate Croatia, look at the aftermath of the 2018 win over England, Modric, Vrsaljko publicly called out the English media for their disrespect, ESPNFC of course laughed it off but they do pay attention to these things
I also think part of it is a result of Croatia being a good soccer nation but not an established powerhouse a la Germany/Brazil/Spain/etc. There's a little more room for perceived slights when you're not thought of the way your recent performances deserve

Except for Balogun.
